Love the Upgrades
By Rascal Reviews on Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2025
I had one of the original Sportbrellas and I loved it. After many years of use it finally split the bed. I immediately ordered another one and I’m very impressed by the upgrades and changes they’ve made to it. It’s even better than the first one. See you at the beach!

Great Idea- Bad Execution
By C. Masters on Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2024
I bought this during Prime Days at a bit of a discount of its usual price. I wanted it as an option for my kid's various sports activities, so we are not sitting in the weather- be it the sun or rain. The first event I used it for was my daughters beach volleyball event. It was easy to take out and seemed to be of decent quality but not long after setting it up, I noticed that one of the seems had a rip in it. It was not enough time for it to have been something that happened in use as it literally was about the first five minutes of me getting it set up, sitting down and then observing it. I was initially checking it out as I was very satisfied with the product but then saw the defect. It was obviously very disappointing. I initially looked to return it and was wanting to get a replacement but when I tried to do this the only option was to return it for refund and then I would have to buy a new one. On top of the hassle of taking it to shipping to return it, I decided to keep it. My plan is to use something like crazy glue to mend the ripped seem so it does not end up tearing more. Other than it having a defect from production, it is a good product. The anchor is a corkscrew which they give you a bar that you can then dig it into the ground. I used this in both sand at the beach and a grass field twice. My wife and kids struggled to get it in deep enough when at the field on one of the times we used it as I was not there to set it up but when I did it, it was easy enough to get it in deep enough to be anchored in well to protect against wind. Two of the times we used it there was a decent amount of wind with some gusts. During the gusts, I would grab the bar to help steady it as a precaution. The other time we used it was a rainy day. It performed very well in the rain but since there was three of us, it couldn't protect us all well enough as the rain would get blown in from the sides a bit. It is easy to put up and break down. The carrying case is ok. It does seem like it may end up breaking down likely before the umbrella does as it is flimsy. At this point, I am hoping to get enough use out of it to make the amount I paid for it worthwhile. I plan on using it when I am solo for the kids outdoor sports. Because we didn't feel we could really rely on this as well as needing a larger size for events that we are stuck in the rain- we bought a pop up canopy from Costco.
