Easy to set up, great starter tent!
By Amazon Customer on Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2023
I’d give this tent a 4.5 stars. This tent was very easy to set up, less than 10 minutes mostly by myself. We set it up in the backyard before taking it camping to make sure there were no tears and to get a general idea of the size. Overall, it is a very good starter tent especially for the price. I hope it will hold up well over our next several trips. Pros: -Easy to set up -Screened patio is great for gear storage -Can fit two double air mattresses or one queen with some wiggle room -Looks great, good overall quality -Held up well in a southern rainstorm Some things to know: -Backside of the tent is just a bug screen. If you want any privacy, you have to set up the rainfly which completely covers the back and limits airflow -Limited number of pockets/hooks for gear inside the tent (only two small wall pockets) -Front screened patio has no rain protection -The tent seemed very taut on the poles, I am slightly worried about tearing in the future. Despite these few negative features, I’d say this is one of the best tents at this price range on the market.

I camp hard
By David Ames on Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2017
This tent survived 4 uses. The first 2 were under gentle conditions, the 3rd was a weekend of thunderstorms with 10-15 mph gusts, and the last was 2 days of 35+ mph winds. That last one killed the tent but it wasn't really it's fault. This tent sets up easy, as far as one not sold as "instant" goes. The trick is setting it up at the house before you need it so your familur with it. Also, so you can drench it with spray on waterproofing before camping trips. Either my manly foresight or the quality of this tent kept the interior dry every time it was tested. I knew the thunderstorm was coming the 3rd trip, so I positioned the sloped edge of the rainfly into the wind/rain and rigged up a tarp to baffle the rain over the screened entrance. The screened area isn't made to be waterproof, but it can be if circumstances allow. The tent was destroyed on a shark fishing trip at the end of a 60 mile unihabited island that was planned months in advance. That weekend featured nonstop 35+ mile mph offshore winds and super tides that almost required Coast Guard intervention to get us home. This tent held up very well against the wind. I used quality tent anchors, not the cheap things it came with, and rigged additional support lines. All 4 of the other tents on this trip blew away, ripped apart, or collapsed. Mine held up, almost. Tragedy struck while rigging down the tent. The windstorm showed no sign of lessening half way through day 2, so we decided to break camp and try to make it off the beach before nightfall. Collapsing a tent in high wind sucks. You have to weigh down the tent after removing the poles then remove the achors otherwise it will tear itself apart flapping in the wind. I used a full ice chest and removed all but one anchor when the tent caught wind and threw the chest off. The anchor held while my tent pretended to be a kite, eventually ripping at the seams until it was shredded. It's totaled. I'll probably get another one, I love how dark the interior stays throughout the morning.
