A Cozy, Multifunctional Blanket Perfect for Family Camping Trips
By alicat on Reviewed in the United States on October 5, 2024
As a family that loves to camp, hike, and pretty much spend as much time outdoors as possible, I was immediately drawn to this wearable poncho blanket. With our big family, we’re always on the lookout for versatile gear that can be used in a variety of ways—because, let’s face it, space is always tight when you're packing for five! This poncho seemed like it could be the perfect addition to our camping setup. We’ve used blankets before, but I liked the idea of something wearable, especially for those chilly early mornings by the campfire. The first time I used this was on a weekend camping trip. It was early fall, so the temperatures were cool but not freezing. I loved how lightweight it felt—seriously, you almost forget you're wearing it! It's incredibly soft against the skin, which makes it comfortable to wear around the campsite. I also appreciated the water-repellent fabric since there was a bit of morning dew on everything. I didn’t have to worry about getting damp while wearing it. My kids even took turns using it, and it fits most adult sizes comfortably without feeling too oversized or awkward. One of my favorite features is how easily it transforms. One moment it’s a poncho, the next, I’m using it as a blanket while sitting on the ground during our picnic lunch. My husband even rolled it up to use as a pillow in the tent—it’s that adaptable. Plus, the kangaroo pocket on the front was a nice little touch for stashing snacks or keeping my phone nearby. On a solo hike, it’s been perfect to pack as an emergency layer, too. It compresses so small that it doesn’t hog space in my pack, which is always a win. That said, I did notice that the snap-in closure can be a bit fiddly when you’re trying to switch between blanket and poncho mode quickly. It’s not a dealbreaker by any means, but worth mentioning if you’re someone who likes things done in a snap (pun intended). All in all, this wearable poncho blanket has been a great addition to our outdoor gear. It’s warm, versatile, and easy to pack—basically, everything I want in a camping accessory. I definitely recommend it for families, solo adventurers, or really anyone who loves the outdoors and needs something practical but cozy. With how much we camp, I know this will get a lot of use!

A bit short.
By Jono Greene on Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2025
I like it because I have Emergency Mylar Panchos to put over it and it has a snap pocket where one lives. It's a bit short for me, on it's own. The pockets weren't placed so you can get your hands in. I think that is pretty short sighted for a garment, that you wear as an outer layer, not to have a warm place for your hands.
