Flying guns.

I purchased this safe for the purpose of taking a firearm on the airplane with me when I travel. It works perfect. I can put my gun in the safe and then the safe in a checked bag or just check the safe on its own with no checked bags if I want to. It makes it easy and worry free and there are no problems or added complications with the airlines. As long as I follow the federal statutes and the airlines guidelines everything goes smooth. So make sure you read all of the laws if you choose to purchase this item to use in a similar manner. When I’m not traveling I keep it in my nightstand next to the bed with my home defense weapon in it for quick, silent, and easy access. We don’t have any small children around anymore but if I did I would be completely comfortable with the knowledge that this unit would keep any curious youngsters from being able to access my firearm without permission. It’s a great unit at a reasonable price. The access push button code and finger print access both work perfect. And I keep the keys in my big gun safe as a 3rd entry option. Oh. And as a side note, I have a desert eagle 50 AE that fits in it with room to spare. So it easily fits a very large handgun or you can fit two small ones in it (Glock 26, and Glock 42). I am not going to test it for obvious reasons but I’m confident that it would be extremely difficult to open this safe without the code or the key. So with that said, this unit would be a perfect addition to ANY household where you want or need quick, easy, silent access to a weapon but also having it totally secure from curious youngsters.

Overall very good. Easy to program. (B4 failure of electronics) 1. Easy to use. 2. Clear instructions. 3. Required tools and hardware included for programming.(inside safe, must be opened with key first) 4. Bigger/heavier than expected. 5. Easy/reliable fingerprint recognition system allowing for family rapid access.(b4 failure) Cons 1. Bigger than expected. Impossible to fit into any closable compartment in my 2020 Ram1500. 2. Not enough foam. My "items" bounce/slide around in there. Would be better with customizable foam to top. 3. Electronic pin and fingerprint programming failed in truck during summer after 1 week.(key function only now). Locking device needed to secure safe in place, needs to have a self locking nut or thread lock on threads so it can't simply twist free. Late Update 12Nov24: Placed safe in truck after receiving it shutdown after 1 week would not accept fingerprints or pin. Can only open with key. (I still use it in vehicle key only.) Tried charging and factory reset. Unsuccessful. I believe it failed due to extreme summer heat. I would've bought more. May be good for in home use if it was heat that caused failure. I would like to receive a replacement to try in home only, and in truck next summer. I'd still send back original for testing. I really liked this product when it was working.
