Aspen Hills 8-Person Tent

I purchased the Wenzel Klondike 8 Person Tent for my summer tent out in the woods. Alas I had to wait about three weeks to get to camp and set it up. It did go up easily enough, glancing at the directions will help, a second set of hands helps too. I did swap out their feeble little stakes for my rebar ones. Keep their stakes, they work ok for getting mud off your boots. I set it up and tossed my gear inside, enough for one day, next day I spent the morning setting up the mess tent, enjoying a relaxing afternoon in the screen porch, recovering from my efforts, I am no spring chicken. Overnight a freak storm rolled in and I woke to an inch of snow and a caved in tent, four broken poles, all three fiberglass and one support pole useless. So I sent off an email to support, within a few days I had a reply saying I was out of luck, their limited warranty doesn’t cover weather related damage, but if I got the part numbers of the poles they’d see if they had them in stock to sell me. Notice in the photo how the instructions imply the tent can handle some extreme weather, just keep the vent clear of snow. Three weeks, three separate emails with the part numbers I need to make my tent useable again, nothing. No reply at all. There are no phone numbers, nothing for a sales contact option, figured I would try buying direct since their service dept cant be bothered to assist me. So now the time to return for a refund is long past, I cant get anyone to help me make my tent whole again, I have just thrown away the purchase price of this monster and have a pile of crap to show for it. Be smart, go elsewhere for your tent, cuz if you ever need service you aint gettin it from these guys.
