Cozy and comfortable!

I've been on a quest to replace my decade+ old pair of LL Bean duck boots. Came across these Sperry duck boots. These are excellent, more lightweight dupes for the Bean boots, with shearling footbeds (and lining), good traction, and a fraction of the price. I will say that it was a bit of trial and error 'til I got to these. I tried the black quilted shearling-lined version, and though the tag indicated the boots were my size, they weren't even close. They didn't even look as though they would fit. Tried my size and one up in the non-shearling quilted version. Wasn't happy. Then I noticed these were available in my size. Joy! A classic look, plus shearling! And the fit is just right (perhaps a teensy bit loose up front because I wear them without socks). And they somehow are not clunky. I wouldn't wear them to a wedding, but I'd wear them just about anywhere else. Now I don't really mind the cold weather as much. So happy I found these!

Not a good fit for a higher volume foot
By Gluten-free Pasta on Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2023
The short of it: length appears true C width, regular to highish arch/instep - should work fine D width, regular arch/instep - should work fine E width, flat to regular arch/instep - may work D or E width, slightly high to high arch/instep - will not work The details: I have a D width, with a bit higher than normal arch/instep. It's just high enough that I often need an EE to handle the extra volume from the arch. When I couldn't get my foot in right away, I figured that the instep part was going to be too snug. I undid the tie on the end (after figuring out how to redo it in case they had to go back) and then was able to get my foot in without much pushing. The length is perfect for a 10, and a bit snug in width at the widest part (my little toe). Initially, they were OK - I walked through the house and felt a bit of rubbing on my little toe, but it wasn't much. I sat at my computer for about an hour and by that time my feet were slightly numb and pretty warm. Rubber doesn't breathe all that well, so that was expected. I left them on another hour and by that time, my feet were begging for release. When I removed the boot and sock, my little toe was red and the top of my foot has lines in it from the too tight pressure on my socks. It's been about 20 minutes since I removed them and the top of my foot is just starting to feel normal. Now, off to find a different wide shoe that I can wear in the mud outside.
