GCI Outdoor Rocker Portable Folding Chair

I was initially pleased with both the price point and the condition in which it was shipped. The rocker is very lightweight and I enjoyed the smooth, full rocking motion, and I was also pleased that there was no assembly required and that the product was easy to fold and stow away. Further, I was surprisingly pleased at the comfortable seating though there is little padding for one’s back and rear.However, because of the rocker’s design, it does not rock very well on uneven/rough concrete. With some outdoor rockers, there are no “rockers” touching the ground, so the rocking motion is not impeded by irregular concrete or other surfaces. But for the GCI freestyle model—and probably all of their models—the “rockers” are in direct contact with the ground. But my most disappointing experience with the chair was that it began squeaking loudly within the first few hours of using it. As I used it for a few hours more, it began squeaking and groaning from increasingly more points on the chair. So, I then tried to add some high-quality oil to some of the joints of the product to no avail.Though the squeaking problems ultimately drove me to return the product, I suspect that this unit was simply a defective product as I have read no Amazon reviews referring to squeaky GCI rockers. But I did enjoy the smooth rocking motion from such an affordable product, and I appreciate its easy maneuverability. After trying other related brands, I may give GCI another try later.
