Love these headlamps, have bought so many!
By Maman on Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2022
Anyone who does not own a headlamp is missing out on a great tool! Not only are they way better for camping than lanterns (handsfree always wins!), they are great for tons of other things: cleaning your kids' teeth, taking out the trash at midnight, if your car breaks down at night, working underneath your car, killing slugs after dark, etc. A great price (especially if you buy the larger packs), very bright (if they are too dim, means battery needs changing), love the adjustable angle, love the adjustable head band size. Have bought so many for our camping trips and as gifts to friends. And it passed the ultimate test.... once I found one in the washing machine, right AFTER an entire wash cycle (one child had left it in their pocket, probably). The batteries had fallen out and were also in the drum. I basically assumed it had died, but as a last ditch attempt, just opened it to let it air out. A few days later, inserted new batteries, and IT WORKED!!! I guess it still works since it had not been turned on while wet. Great buy, can't go wrong!

Long Term Update... Still going!
By Jakester on Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2022
UPDATE June 2024: They're all still going, I use them all the time. The battery life and the switch are still the only problems, but the switches have gotten much worse. I have to hit the button eight or ten times to get them to turn on or off. It can be maddening when you're in the middle of a project. I hope they upgraded the switch by now. UPDATE October 2023: I have used four of these extensively for a year and a half. None of them have outright died. The covers popped off a few of them when dropped but I was able to put them back together each time. BRIGHTNESS is just okay, not bad not great. Good enough for what I do. The SWITCH is a real problem once they're broken in, basically they don't want to turn off. I generally have to hit the switch several times to get them to turn off, which is pretty annoying when you're in the middle of something and you're wearing gloves. I wish they would dump the brightness settings and the strobe because honestly I only use the brightest setting, and once the battery fades, the other settings aren't available anyway. I never use the strobe. BATTERY LIFE is REALLY bad, worst I ever had in a headlamp (I use rechargeables now, and they don't last as long as non-rechargeable). Not sure how long they last because I do so much on/off (I carry two in the truck because of the battery life). If I had to guess I'd say around 3 to 4 hours on high, then they dim so quickly that about an hour after that they're virtually useless. So aside from the switch and the battery life, no problems. ORIGINAL REVIEW: After quite a bit of research based on burn time, price and SIMPLICITY, I came across this deal from Vont. The ad claims a battery life of 90 hours (on low light), which is twice as long as the closest competitors under $20. They offer four lamps for $20, which is crazy cheap, and I just received them. They all four work and appear to be very good quality so I was pretty happy… Until I read the box they came in, which claims a battery life of… 8 HOURS! Yeah… I wouldn’t have bought them if I knew they had a burn time of 8 hours. Such a bummer. I’ll go ahead and test them and see how they do, but I’m guessing it’ll be closer to 8 hours than 90. I’ll update my review when I figure it out. DEAR HEADLAMP MANUFACTURERS: Simplify! I do not need red lights. I do not need multiple lights. I do not need flashing lights. I only need ONE good LED bulb with a simple on/off switch, and I need good burn time. I WANT IP4 or better water resistance, but it's not absolutely necessary. I cannot be alone in this.

Work perfect for my use star gazing (red light). Perfect brightness, not too bright but not too dim.
LOVED the red-mode-default-option when turning on

I got these before a week at camp. I put one away as a spare, and the other one I used every night in red mode (so as to minimize impact on other campers and to preserve my night vision) for runs to the privy, etc. I really appreciated that it can be set to turn on in red right away. That's kind of a big deal. My previous headlamp you had to cycle through 3 white modes before getting to red mode, often times by which your night vision was gone. So these might also be good for star-gazing evenings, etc. I also appreciate the progression of the white light from dimmer-to-brighter rather than the opposite (why blind you then get dimmer?), although I barely tested the white modes. In addition to using it all week, I left it on by accident for 12+ hours in red mode one day, and that didn't drain the (included) batteries -- they still seem pretty strong. So I haven't killed them yet, but battery life seems pretty good in red mode, more than a week of "normal" usage at least. I haven't really used the headlamp in the white modes, so I'm not sure how much worse the battery life would be using white. I'm also not sure how well the water sealing will work - I've seen better. It was OK during a very light sprinkle one night, but that didn't really test it. The plastic has a groove on the back that the front fits into fairly tightly, but no flexible gasket or anything, just a plastic edge in a plastic groove. I don't trust that it would stay dry inside if it were dropped in a puddle or used in a heavy downpour, so I haven't tested it in that way. The wide elastic strap is nice. It stayed on my hat just fine, and also worked when lark's-head-attached to my tarp ridge-line. For the price for two lights and 6 batteries, and the well-designed features, I'm very satisfied.
Great headlight for the price with some interesting features.

Setting up a travel trailer generally means doing it in the dark during the winter as it gets dark so early. Using a flashlight works, but it provides its own issues as you try to hold the light and connect power, water, etc. So, I really wanted to get a light weight, easy to use headlamp to leave my hands free. That is why I ordered this product. Here is what I found when I received it. 1. The unit comes with no batteries (noted in ad for device) and no instructions on how to switch from white light to red light. There is a picture on the box that shows you what options are available in each, but nothing that tells you how to switch between them. To answer that question, turn on the light and then hold down the switch button. The light will then switch from whatever color it was in to the other color. To switch back, do the same process again. Have the light on and then hold the button down until it switches. You will find you need to play with the switch a bit to figure out how to change to each setting. 2. The white light is very bright but the red light is not so much. The red is intended to preserve your night vision so it is strange that one of the features of the red light is an SOS function!!! That function is NOT available in the white light which can be seen much further away than the red light can. 3. The head band is easily adjustable and holds the light securely. The three AAA batteries required for this do not weigh much so they are not a problem. Figure on a good 3 hours of light before you need to replace the batteries. This is ok, but not great and I am sure it is a function of the small batteries!! 4. The light is adjustable for up and down with detents to keep it at the setting you want. Easy to adjust with one hand while wearing the unit. This is a perfect light for my needs as they are short term use and not all that frequent. Since two lights are provided in the package, I labeled then with a color band. I use one until the light gets dim and then switch to the other unit after pulling out the batteries so I do not forget. These would certainly be good for short walks at night, just not for long ones unless you bring spare batteries (3 ea AAA). I would recommend this product. NOTE: I did receive a discount coupon to redeem after buying this product after having purchased a bicycle light from them. If you register with the company, you will receive offers for discounts after purchase on other products they make from time to time.
These are great if you align your expectations with the price

I purchased a set of 2 for $13.99. Both my wife and I think that they are terrific. I use them for electrical work while the building power is turned off. It is usually close to pitch black while I am using one. Both of them work very well. I have used mine enough to go through a set of batteries. The length of time the batteries last has made it through multiple jobs and is quite reasonable. My wife needs quite a bit of light to see well. She uses one for intricate close up hobby work. Considering they cost $7 each, I would not toss them in a tool box with a bunch of metal tools nor expect them to be waterproof. They are made of plastic and are not designed to be abused. They are lightweight and very comfortable to wear. If you want to use them in the rain, then wear a cap with a bill on it, like a ball cap. The angle of the lamp is adjustable. I tip mine down a bit so I can look through the correct part of my glasses for clarity. They are extremely bright. I don't generally use the brightest setting most of the time. Just remember to align your expectations with the price. You are not going to get a $50.00 headlamp for $7.00. But for $7.00 each, these things are amazing!
Purchased for toddlers taken by dad

I initially purchased these for my toddlers because if they loose or break them it isn’t a huge loss because of how inexpensive these are. After receiving these and realizing that they are the same quality and of similar brightness to my Fenix head lamps I decided to make the switch too. Since my initial purchase of one 4 pack I have purchased another 4 pack because I ended up using the kids and putting spares in my tackle box, tool box, and truck. With the second 4 pack the kids each got one (I know you were all concerned they wouldn’t get their’s), my father-in-law got one for his evening walks, and we now have a spare in the garage in case of power outages. These have three brightness settings that do have a visible difference in brightness as well as a strobing feature and a red light feature. These features are nice because you illumination ranges from close to about 20ft ahead of you. The build quality is top notch and after about a year of fairly regular use the head bands have not lost any of their elasticity. Additionally I have yet to change the batteries on any of the head lamps and all are still as bright as the day they arrived. Fantastic product at a very reasonable price. If you are looking for head lamps (which I assume you are since you are reading reviews of head lamps) end your search here; you won’t be disappointed.
I own over 10+ flashlights and this is one of the best interface.

I own 3+ flashlights from 5 of the top flashlight brands for enthusiasts and this is my go to for backpacking. The flashlight is not the lightest at about 52 grams (without the bracket and strap which can be modded) compared to nu25 at 30 grams The interface is such that it remembers your last mode between white and red. The mode can be switch with a long press. The brightness/modes can be adjusted by clicking once. Waiting for 3 seconds changes the single click functionality to power off as opposed to mode change. I find that the interface works really well when camping and hiking since its less fiddly when trying to cook or prep for the night. Not the brightest flashlight but good enough for campsite and hiking/running Hello Vont team, if you are reading this, here is a wishlist for version 2.0 - Flood mode. - GITD button (pretty gimmicky but nice to have) - Ultralight strap - Moonlight mode - Strobe mode should be hidden for the White led (I don't need to disorient myself as a regular occurance at the campsite)
Very Nice Set

I picked these up because I needed more light when I worked on things close up. The three settings of white light work great for me. Those are the most important settings for me. I build some things that have small parts and have great light in my workshop but sometimes just want to work at the dining room table or in the living room and the lighting is not good for doing this but with these lights I will be able to see correctly to work there. They are easy to turn on and adjust from one brightness level to another. The lights adjust low, medium, high and strobe so if you want to go from medium to low you have to go through the other two to get there but that only takes a second and the more you use them the easier it is. They do have a tip feature that you can use to position the light some what but I have not really needed that feature. Having two means I always have one handy and that helps me out a lot. I have no need for them outside but if they allow hands free lighting for my use I see no reason they wouldn't work for uses outside. The red lights are a nice addition and are very bright. I would recommend and buy these again.

I was very excited to receive my Vont Spark 2 pack headlamps. They arrived very quickly and I opened the package right away. The lights were very nicely packaged in a box and each lamp was in its own “bubble wrap” bag. My first impression of the lights was that they felt a little cheap. The plastic housing seemed to be of a lower quality than some other head lamps that I own. The headlamp housing tilts down and that seems sturdy and secure. However the hinge for the battery compartment looks like it can easily break if it is forced past its stop. The light seems to be of a good brightness. This is not the brightest light on the market, but it is definitely bright enough for around the campsite and in the tent. I added some batteries and started testing the headlamp. I was easily able to cycle through the 4 steps of the white light. But with only one button I was having trouble switching to the red light. I pressed the button for a couple of seconds but the red lights did not come on. I went to the website and saw that to change modes you need to hold the button for several seconds. I had not held it long enough. Once I held the button long enough I was able to change between red and white light. Knowing that you need to hold the button to change modes does work well once you know you need to hold the button. My only complaint is that wish so many modes (especially the white light) there is not a quick way to turn it off. You have to continue to cycle through the remaining light levels to get to the off selection. With a single button I am not sure hot to make this any different. On a whole, I am pleased with the light. It is bright enough for our camping needs and has the added benefit of having red light when you are walking in a group that helps preserve your night vision if you happen to turn your head and look at someone in the face.
