VERY NARROW shoe, even in WIDE width, thus the SHORT lace length!

I just got my pair of these shoes, recommended by 2 different friends…. I ordered a 9 wide, my usual tennis shoe size now. I have a pair of Ryka tennis shoes in 9 wide that I use for my outdoor 2 mile walks, and they work fine, but I thought I’d give these a try to switch off with. These shoes are VERY NARROW! Even in the WIDE width! The bottom white sole area is VERY wide, but not the top box area of the shoe where your foot slides into! The first thing I checked was the label inside each shoe to see if I had the wrong size - nope, the size I have is correct - 9 W. While I always wear a wide width now, my feet are not that wide - wide width shoes ALWAYS fit. My shoe size used to be 8 1/2, so ordering 9 wide has always worked for me. The ONLY way I could fit my foot into the shoe (and that’s with compression short socks - thinner than athletic socks) was to pull out most of the shoe laces so there is only 4 - 4 1/2 inches of lace available at the end for tying…. Pulling back almost all of the laces allowed the center cross-lace area to be opened up A LOT, all the way back to the bottom. I was able to slide my foot in, but it’s a VERY snug fit! Tightening up the laces slightly (so as not to strangle my feet in the shoe), I am only left with about 4 - 4 1/2 inches to tie at the top - NOWHERE NEAR ENOUGH LACE LENGTH! So the main issue with these shoes is with how NARROW they are! I think that someone who wears a 9 narrow shoe could wear my size 9 wide and have enough lace length for tying, because the center lace-up area for them would be much closer together - thus not wasting a lot of lace length there! Leaving the little bit of lace at the ends untied, the shoes seem to be pretty comfortable to wear around the house. I’ll have to wear them this way until I get some new longer laces. By untying one shoe’s lace on one side, I was able to determine that the laces seem to have a total length of 46 inches. Again, this should have been long enough if I didn’t have to waste a lot of lace length to widen the lace-up area! I ordered the Delele 2 pair round wave shape non-slip black laces at the 63 inch length for 9.99 This should give me enough lace length to have all the extra lace in the lace up area and still be able to tie the ends, without having a lot of extra length…. And the wave shape will prevent the laces from becoming loose when walking. WHY don’t they make the foot area of the shoe WIDE for size WIDE shoes?
