Fixed it myself (UPDATED one month later)

UPDATE: It has been a month since I started to use this walking pad. I absolutely love it. I have tried other treadmills and walking pads in the past, but nothing has been as stable, convenient, sleek, and easy to move as the UMAY walking pad. I have walked just about 45 minutes everyday, and it works great. Others reviews made me cautious about new or loud noises, but nothing had changed at all! I have had to realign the belt due to using the machine long enough to break it in, but is super easy to do and takes less than five minutes. I also really enjoyed the excellent customer support. They have fast response times and are always more than happy to help and will even send you videos for better clarity. For the price and convenience, as well as style and quality, pushing in a few loose wires once has been completely worth it. I recommend this walking pad! ————— I was excited to receive this walking pad, but it unfortunately did not work when it arrived. Like most people, I thought it was the remote, because the red light on the power switch came on when plugged in. However, using your phones camera you can actually test if the remote works. Before I knew this I did buy a new watch battery (cr2025) from walmart for less than $6. I reached out to you-may directly on Amazon. They were the ones who told me about the remote and phone camera trick. After reading thousands of reviews and such on Amazon, tiktok, Google, etc., I finally just decided to take the top off of the treadmill itself (it’s three regular screws, plus the two top stoppers) and I pushed in every single wire I saw. There were three wires that moved then I did this. I assume it was one of them that weren’t connected well. Once together again, it completely worked and I wish I recorded my reaction because I actually just laughed. Tips for the other people who also have had this issue, too: - plug the walking pad into a working outlet -turn the switch on the base of the walking pad on, making sure that it glows red. **AT THIS POINT the display should read “REST” if not, you most likely have the same issue I experienced. -point the remote at the sensor on the display area, directly below the UMay logo. -before taking the treadmill apart, check that the remote works by using your phone camera and pressing any button while looking at the sensor, there should be a red light that blinks (it’s quite faint) - if you need a replacement battery, they’re sold at Walmart. It’s a CR2025 watch battery. -if taking the top of the walking pad off, be sure to turn it off, and unplug it. -be careful when messing with the wires, do not pull on the ribbon that is attached from the top panel to the inside main area. Now that it works, I love it. It’s super quite, and I’ve walked just over 3 miles on all the speed settings. Here’s to y’all fixing it yourselves because no one wants to return this heavy thing!

DO NOT BUY. Unsafe, heavy, loud, poorly functioning remote, deceptive seller!

Update: worst seller experience. Seller continues to refuse to refund. I had to work it out with Amazon but it really should be the seller processing the refund not Amazon!!!!!!! Do not waste your money. 10+ years as an Amazon customer, this was the worst experience. No seller was this cunning, deceiving and unhelpful. In addition to the petrifying customer experience, the product is clumsy, loud, with useless remote. Most importantly, it’s dangerous! They clearly did not do any safety testing. The machine gets extremely hot after 15 minutes of use and becomes STATIC. Your body absorbs all the electricity voltage that this machine emits and your entire body becomes static. It does not feel safe at all. Please add few more bucks and buy one with a verified seller. This treadmill did not work for me for the above mentioned reasons so I decided to return. However, the seller cancelled my return request and emailed me to first falsely claim that I was out of my return window, which was not true - I still had 2 months to return. Then they said they will need me to prove that the machine cannot be fixed. This is just wrong. Buyers have every right to return for whatever reason it being. There’s even an option to select your return reason - “I changed My Mind” is an option for returns. They dont respond to your emails and they dont help you with returns. I’m stuck with garbage that is causing me trouble to dispose. Please, those of you who saw this on instagram, who read the good reviews - please walk away and save your time and money.
