SO much fun...

We have a child in PT & wanted something she could use for stretching, standing, raising her body weight with her arms, etc. It has really helped her learn to balance when standing, while still feeling secure, as well as helps her to open up her pectorals when she hangs down from the bar. She no longer has to try to hang from a bunk bed to do that. The bar we were looking for had to be to be EASY to assemble, FOLDABLE for QUICK storage in between PT sessions, SAFE, as well as STURDY. This gym bar meets ALL of our requirements, & THEN some. Initial assembly took 15 minutes, which was in part because I could not tell if there was a specific direction the bolts needed to go into the holes (there IS; see my close up photos showing how the nut end of the bolt fits into the bolt hole on the side with the RECESSED cutout in the frame). I had to look it up on the Amazon product page to see the close-ups to make SURE I was doing it correctly. I did NOT want to risk my child's safety by possibly putting the bolts in backwards. It has 3 height levels, which is GREAT for our tween to use all THREE levels for PT, for the various exercises she has to do. It could also work as a ballet bar, depending upon the height of the person. ------------- It is EASY to lower & raise the bar, which takes only 1-2 minutes. 1. Unscrew the black knob on the sides (you may need to use the included hex wrench to loosen them initially). 2. Remove the bolts that screw into the black knobs. 3. Raise or lower the bar to align the screw holes in the side part of the bar with the screw holes in the side support bars. 4. Insert the bolts into the correct bolt holes. 5. Tighten the black knobs (you may need to use the included hex wrench to fully tighten them). FOLDING the bar FLAT is also just as EASY. 1. Push down on the bendable side supports (use your hand or foot), using CAUTION, so you do NOT pinch your hand or foot in the JOINT of the side supports. 2. Push the LEGS with the BLACK SLIP RESISTANT pads inward. That's all there is to it. **I uploaded a video in the extra video area to show how quickly set up and fold down is.** ------------------------------------ Weight capacity is 165 lbs. My tween is 92# & the bar holds her very well, when she supports herself up on the bar at the highest level (& the shorter levels too). I have also gotten up on the bar & spun around at the highest level, & there was NO shifting of the gym bar unit, NO instability, etc. I felt FULLY supported & SECURE while up on the bar. I can no longer twirl around like I used to without getting sick, so I have not used the bar regularly, but my kids have. The ADULT model in the video is 5'7" & 135#. There is no sway or instability of the bar when she jumps up, or when she spins around on the bar. There is also a photo with her on the bar. The next model in the photos is 5'9" & 120#. She is standing in front of the bar at the 3 height levels. The BLACK pads on the bottom of the LEGS offer SLIP RESISTANCE, and do a GREAT job keeping the bar IN PLACE. I have other kids as well & all but our oldest (over the weight limit), have tested the bar out. My youngest ones have been using the bar EVERY day since it was delivered. The kids hang by their hands, their knees, etc. They jump up & hold their weight on top of the bar (not sure of the technical gymnastic term for it. lol), twirl around, etc. They also swing by their hands & knees too. We make them use it one at a time, unless they are hanging down from their hand with their feet under them, in which case, they can hang 2 at a time then as long as they can keep a distance between them without knocking heads together. We don't have a gym mat yet, but have since been using couch cushions & blankets under the bar until we can decide which mat to purchase. If you want to purchase a mat, foam gym floor tiles, etc. for under the bar, you'll want a mat or tiles to be 36" wide max. to fit within the gym bar frame. Anything wider would not fit well. Our kids have enjoyed this gym bar so much, we are considering purchasing a more permanent bar to put in our basement that they can use whenever they would like to get out some energy. We have been using this gym bar daily & then putting it into a closet or under the bed at the end of the day. Our kids actually used it to make a tent to sleep in twice & LOVED it, of course, In the photos you can see it fits under a queen bed, with room to spare. The widest part of the bar when it's folded, is the part of the frame where the legs are joined to the frame, & it is 4 9/8" tall, which allows at least 2" to clear our queen bed frame. When folded flat, with the bar on the highest setting, the total height is 60 3/4". You may need to fold the bar flat with the bar in the middle or lowest height, but it fits fine under our queen bed. When folded flat with the bar in the lowest setting, the length is 53 1/2". The bar levels are: - Highest = 50 1/2" tall - Middle = 47" tall - Lowest = 43 1/4" tall I am VERY happy with this purchase & it has been VERY helpful for our child's PT. It has also been a blast for the kids to use to get out some energy during the stupidly cold season here. It's a GREAT tool to have, & you do NOT need much space at all to store it since it can be folded flat. I WOULD purchase this bar again for PLAYING as well as PT.

This arrived looking pretty beat up, chipped paint, & rough spots on the bar itself. I was pretty disappointed upon finishing assembly (but with only 2 days until Christmas there wasn’t time to return). I wish I would have spent more money for a heavier duty option.
