Impressive little tent
By Alan on Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2024
This pops up in seconds, staking it down takes a couple minutes longer. I am 6'2" and fit in the tent, but just barely, I have to sleep corner to corner or my head or feet rub the tent wall. Without the rainfly on its wide open and you can gaze at the stars. With the rainfly on you can't see a darn thing outside at all until you unzip it to look out, but it keeps out the wind and rain great. Easy to put up and to take down. It can fit 2 people but then there is no room for anything else and you better like the other person cuz you'll definitely be spooning before the nights over. To me it is a one person tent but it's great.

Versatile, fast to use, a bit heavy to carry, and not totally waterproof.
By Joe on Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2022
I've used the 1 person iteration of this tent a good bit at this point and I'll start by listing what I see as pros and cons. PROS: The speed of set up is incredibly fast. You can pop out the main bug net body in 10-20 seconds and set up the rest of the fly in under a minute with some basic snap in clips. This is useful when you have to set up in the rain. The fly design will keep rain from raining directly onto you. It covers enough to where you won't have to worry about rain blowing in sideways. The bathtub floor is very high. This is good as it will help prevent flooding ground water from entering via the bug net mesh. The bug net tent body is fully detachable from the fly which is very fast to do. They're simply clipped together on all four corners. This adds a lot of versatility to allow you to facilitate god airflow in hot weather when the fly is not needed and the speed at which this can be done is very convenient. It also allows you to string up a tarp or poncho overhead in place of the fly for better ventilation or star gazing. Price: The price is admittedly pretty low as far as tents go and I think this is a strong aspect regarding its value. CONS: Packaway size: This Tent's Packaway size is excessively long. At first I didn't think I could fit in my 60L ruck, but I found out I could just barely squeeze it in so long as nothing was on top or underneath it. This is going to be a big issue for people with medium to small sized rucksacks and being forced to carry gear outside your ruck is a lot harder on your body. This is by far the worst tent I've used when it comes to packaway size. Weight: The tent is really heavier than I would've liked. If Teton could've shaved off a lb or two it would've been a much better value tent. The Flooring: The bathtub floor is not waterproof, and will leak through to the inside in wet conditions when the ground is totally soaked and saturated with water. I have personally experienced this and plan on trying to use a groundsheet to remedy the problem. The floor is "water resistant", which is fine for light rains or even brief heavy rains, but it will repel water when sitting on damp earth when it rains all day. This is a huge oversight on teton's part and I wish they would've simply waterproofed the floor properly. If your weather conditions aren't excessively damp it will probably be okay, but most of the time that's beyond our control. The fly for the 1 person tent is missing some serious ventilation needs while deployed. While I appreciate the fact that the door can be pulled out as a vestibule, that's about the max extent of ventilation you get from this fly. I had to modify the other side of mine and add a grommet with paracord to pull it out from the tent body to improve ventilation. This is another huge design oversight and disappointment. From what I've seen the 2 person tent does not have this issue and has two doors/vestibules. Overall my feelings are very mixed on this tent. I feel as if it had a lot of great potential with the speed of use and detachable fly versatility that outmatched anything I've used before, but I was let down by very basic design oversights, such as the leaky floor and poor ventilation of the deployed fly. I could live with the weight and excessive packaway size, but this tent realistically has to become a project tent if the user wishes to make it a feasibly good 3 season tent. I'd really like to see teton come out with a version 2 of this design that addresses the leaky floor and deployed fly ventilation. These are relatively cheap fixes. Overall I plan on sticking with it for the time being, but just know that I had to make some modifications before I bet my quality of sleep on it.
