Excellent 2-post power / squat rack
By HuskyPup on Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2020
I was on the hunt for a squat / power rack with a smaller footprint than a full-size 4-post cage rack. There are many half-size (2-post) racks but not many have proper heavy-duty safety bars/catches which are in my opinion a must have. I came across this HulkFit "Pro" model power rack with an advertised capacity of 1000 lbs. I'm not lifting anywhere near that kind of weight but I can and do appreciate a rack with quality construction and stability. High on my list of requirements were a pair of beefy safety/spotter arms which are included with this model and are very quick and easy to adjust. Assembly was fairly straightforward. Can be done by one person if they're determined (attaching the posts alone can be tricky). The rack arrived with some dings, scratches, and minor dents here and there that likely occurred during shipping. Considering it took 2 delivery guys to carry this thing into my garage, it's not a big deal. I enjoy the yellow coloring of the rack. It's sprayed on there relatively well. Again maybe some paint chips here and there. Hard to complain considering the cost. Overall build construction is very good. It's plenty sturdy. Can still move around with plenty of space in my garage. In summary I am very happy with my purchase. It's nice and sturdy. Looks good, functions well. The j-hooks and safety bars are very quick and easy to adjust. The rack posts will sway a bit when unloading and loading weight (that's pretty much unavoidable for a 2-post design) but it does not move or slide on the ground or anything like that. Works perfectly for the StrongLifts program. The integrated barbell weight holders are a very nice bonus. The safety/spotter bars are nice and heavy duty. I've not stress tested them but I would likely opt for a full-rack (4-post) if you're lifting anything north of 400 lbs alone.

Other reviews are correct - this thing is NOT stable!
By bobsawyer on Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2022
I think ultimately I'm going to like this rack, but there are a few things that need to be pointed out. 1. Other reviewers mentioned the packaging being sub-par. Mine arrived sort-of shrink wrapped because the tape apparently burst and caused the box to come partially open. No pieces were missing, fortunately, but the packaging is definitely sub-par. 2. Also mentioned by others: the instruction manual is garbage. Pointless. You get two pages of illustrations of the rack in stages of assembly. No diagrams, no part numbers, etc. This is NOT an IKEA instruction manual by any stretch. I pieced the rack together by making some assumptions on what pieces appeared to be needed for each step. There are also pins and a couple washers with no indication as to their use. Presumably when I get to the point of using them I'll figure it out. Maybe they hold the dip bars in place. Who knows. 3. Don't even bother with the "tools" they send. Throw those away. You will want a 17mm ratchet and an adjustable spanner or wrench. If you don't have a ratchet set, invest in one - it will be a useful addition to your toolbox. 4. Once I got the superstructure assembled, and tightened the bolts as tight as possible, I determined that there is very little side-to-side movement -- which is good! HOWEVER, there is a LOT of front-to-back movement. This is because the uprights bolt on with two metal plates on each side of the upright, but nothing on the front or back of the post. I'm going to the hardware store tomorrow to purchase some steel L-brackets to add to the back of the uprights at the base to try to mitigate the sway. So yeah - I haven't even used the thing yet. I'm afraid to until I can improve the stability. Once I've gotten that under control and have a chance to use it, I'll come back and amend this review.
