Ello Beacon Stainless Steel Tumbler

I made the stupid mistake of assuming that the top on this tumbler would be at least somewhat leak-resistant. When closed, the lid on these tumblers might only reduce the leakage flow by half when tipped over, or worse! When it tips over, you'll have a real mess on your hands, or lap, or carpet, etc. So, I've decided to never use it in the car, as I'd planned to do about half the time. The tumbler itself is well made, and does a very good job of keeping drinks cold for a long time. That's thanks to its being a vacuum bottle - the same reliable technology in old-timey Thermos and Stanley bottles. I've given up on cheap, inefficient non-vacuum-type travel mugs. None of them do the job for very long. The paint is beautifully applied, but my hands find it very hard to grip. The surface isn't shiny smooth, but more textured. Nevertheless, my fingers tend to slip on the surface, so I must hold it toward the bottom where it's not as big around and easier to grip. For me, a tumbler this big around would be much easier to hold with a handle.
