Absolutely worth the investment/savings!

For a couple of hundred dollar investment, you want to be pleased with your purchase... I sure am and have nothing but good things to say about this Rangefinder, though I do have 1 observation that may help you. First, I really thought that the 'top-line-brands' that cost 1.5x to 2x more had some intrinsic quality/feature that distinguished it from the NX9. After 10 or so rounds, I can't imagine what they'd be. This product does just what it says it will, quickly, easily, and with accuracy about 98% of the time (probably 1 or two times a round, I'll shoot a number that is wildly and clearly wrong; without having to move or turn on/off or re-focus I can re-shoot and get the real number - - - I reckon I can chalk this up to 'operator error'). My observation is that the slope/distance calculator is an extra that one day will actually benefit me (at this point, I'm not good enough to take advantage of knowing my approach is 163 yards but it 'plays like' 158... interesting, yes. Actionable, not really. It has validated that my perception of needing to drop or add a club due to large elevation changes is pretty accurate. So consider, based on how many different courses you play, whether this is really needed and worth the extra $. Finally, FOR YEARS, I debated whether I really needed a range finder given fairway markers and a very simple (old) Garmin watch that gave me front/middle/back distances. I now know that the answer is 'yes'... in one simple, 7 second, step I know how far I need to hit it, eliminating a) the time expended finding stakes/fairway markers, walking off steps, getting center-of-green distance and then TRYING to account for + or - for pin locations to choose the right club and b) knowing where NOT TO HIT IT to safely stay out of creeks, bunkers, trees (which too shoots accurately).

Really Disappointed!

Not new to Precision Pro - I had the old-style NX7 Pro (3 lenses and thick green front trim) until I left it in a cart at a local muni this past April and someone else made it theirs. That thing just worked and always seemed to grab reliable distances regardless of the surroundings. I ordered the NX9 to replace that expecting the same or better performance, but that doesn't seem to be the case. This thing seems to just grab onto anything and consecutive readings can vary by 20, 30, even 50 yards depending on the green and the surroundings. I frequently find myself looking for yardage markers on the course now to verify that it is actually grabbing something near the green, and that's NOT what I spent all of this money for because while the NX9 doesn't command the same price as a premium laser, a good bit north of $200 isn't exactly giveaway prices either. My other complaint is with the magnet, because this unit has already popped off of the cart bar twice. I was fortunate the first time that it came toward me and I had it land in my lap. The second time - not so lucky and it hit in the rough and now has some small marks in the case. It's not ALL bad though - the NX9 does have a bit more heft to it then the old NX7 Pro did and seems like it is really built well. It's also slightly larger and fits my hand better too. The case is really nice but that wrap-around elastic strap has me wondering..... It's nowhere near as easy to use as the old "hook style" elastic strap was. All-in-all, I'm torn on this one. There is still about a week left in my 90 day return window and I am on the fence whether or not I contact PP and request a refund......... Update 8/10/2023: Down to 2 stars..... Getting the run-around. Been trying to return this to PP since Monday 8/7. Nobody answers the phone so I've since filed 2 service tickets. Both times I've been told my case has been "escalated" and someone will reach out in 24 hours, but then no one ever contacts me.
