Color not as pictured

These are comfortable-ish jeans. The fabric is soft, but the elastic waistband inside is a little scratchy on the skin. I bought an 8 and I think it's true to size, but with a smaller waist than some other brands. The waist is a wee bit tight, especially when sitting. For reference, I'm kind of an "apple" shape, with waist and hip measurements about the same, and a bit of a belly. I am 5'5" and 135 lbs. I couldn't gain any weight at all if I wanted these jeans to fit. I'm taking off stars for the color. I will return these jeans, because the color is NOT AS PICTURED. I ordered Blue, which is pictured as a bright medium wash. The jeans I got are that grunge-colored denim that's more gray than blue. There is extreme fading on the thighs, which is not a good look IMO. And the destructed area is also a bit much -- it will be a full-blown tear in no time at all.

My new favorite jeans.

I've purchased 2 pairs of Democracy Jeans at our local Bealls store-one size 6, one size 8. They are both fit great, wash great and I love them. We are planning a motorcycle trip and I wanted another pair of jeans, so I chose to find these on Amazon. I was a little nervous about sizing, though. The first pair I ordered were 8 longs. They were too long and too big, but I've been dieting, so I didn't mind returning them for a smaller size. I exchanged for a 6 regular. The fit was just right this time and I love the way they shape my problem areas and I'm very happy with this product. I'm 5'7" and 155, for reference.
