Much better photo quality than SpyPoint Game Camera and more reliable - 5 Stars
By Ben Berg on Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2019
Very easy to set up and if you can't figure it out, the customer service is amazing. I used the SimHero included (they just started doing this, before they included an AT&T sim card) and it's GREAT - it comes preloaded with 500 photos and their cheapest plan costs $7. The camera still works with AT&T but I'm using SimHero - it has the same signal as AT&T or T-Mobile. My main interest is IR photos/clips of our vacation resident wild hedgehog. The range of settings makes for a very versatile camera, especially so at this price. I have a SpyPoint camera as well but the night vision photos aren't as great and we don't always receive the photos on our phone which is important for me considering that the camera is 4 hours away. 1st night I got nothing! Maybe the memory card wasn't set up correctly, after a few manual exposures, I tried again and it worked. I've now used it for a few nights and come to the following conclusions. For fast moving objects (hedgehogs are surprisingly fast) if set to Image + Video, by the time the camera has taken the photo and is ready for video there is nothing there. I got much better results with video only or image x 3. Our hedgehog and cats will trigger the PIR set to Normal at 15 yards with ease. The 56 IR LEDs are probably the best on the market from my research. The "no glow" from the LEDs seems to not be visible to cats but a couple of them have walked over during the day to investigate. They didn't seem worried, just curious. The hedgehog doesn't seem to be able to see them either. Last night I had about 50 videos, 50 x 20(s) = 1000s = approx 16 minutes In theory, this means the batteries will last less than 24 nights and that doesn't include setting up and viewing on the LCD. The results, however, are well worth it, so either buy rechargeable good batteries, a solar panel or make up a 6v supply for the camera. For those interested in close up stuff, my latest video clips are 2 meters away and they are sharp. I was amazed to discover we have 2 hedgehogs, who judging by the fight are not friends! Overall, Great cellular game camera, photo quality, and impressive night vision. Receiving the photos on my phone is the best thing about it!

Night pic quality degrades over time. Not weatherproof. Good warranty.
By R. Duhon on Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2019
Had some issues setting up. Store owners did a good job of helping me out. Customer service is second to none. They know everything about these cameras. When something isn't going right, they know the solution. Pictures were good during daylight. See attached picture for reference. Pictures were average close up at night, they were below average past 15 feet at night. Grainy. I have set up on a hog trap, to see when to shut the cell activated gate. Worked ok for 2 months, then nothing. Found camera full of water from a very heavy overnight rain. See picture attached. Camera lense is full of water. It worked good enough to alert me that pigs were in trap. Just doesn't work well in heavy rains. Not worth the price for a little over 2 months of use. But the their warranty policy does replace bad cameras. If it worked for 2 years, I would be ok with that. Most non cellular trail cameras usually go bad around 2 years. Update: Seller replaced the camera that filled with rain water. Will be putting back on my hog trap in a couple of weeks to see if things change. Second Update: The new one arrived. I went to set it up, but something was different. The last one was complicated to set up, but customer service was second to none. Same as this time, called, they walked me through the set up. Being older and not very versed in electronic technology, it was best to call to get help on setting up. It seems that AT&T will no longer let cell cameras text pictures to AT&T phones. You have to go through an app, like Spypoint does. Unless you get an AT&T SIM card, which runs about $40/month. CreativeXP sent a SIM card with the camera that costs $110/year for unlimited pics. There are other cheaper plans. I took this one cause I use it year round, it just sends to a gmail account. Yahoo email didn't work with the type of picture it sent. If the pics were clearer and could see farther at night, and there was a phone app, this would be a 4 star cell camera. The only thing that could make this one better is if they used an app to make changes from phone, instead of having to drive hours to make changes to the camera settings at the camera itself. Other manufacturers use an app or camera software to do this, at the same price for the camera. Update again. Attached 2 night pictures. The lense fogs up in winter when the temps change at night. One pic is foggy, the other looks like the night flash is going out, night pics are getting harder to see over time. The attached night pic that is not foggy is of a hog in my trap, you can see it's eyes only. If you don't know it's there, you won't see it. The camera is set up about 10 ft. from the trap gate. It seems like over time, night picture quality suffers or the flash is going out. Day pictures are usually pretty good. I attached a day pic for reference. The last pic attached is on a clear night. I think this replacement camera is going out. This is an expensive camera for what you end up getting as far as picture quality at night. If you only want day time pics, this one works unless the weather is bad. Another Update: Talked with customer service again. They are replacing my second camera, it couldn't be repaired. So far, their customer service and life time warranty policy is working great. Last Update: When I purchased this camera, they advertised a lifetime warranty. They changed the warranty to 1 year as of this update. This camera was replaced twice under the first year of warranty, so camera #3 has filled with water AGAIN. This is advertised as a waterproof camera. Every time I had it out in a heavy rain, it goes out. It cannot take a heavy rain. For $300 I am replacing with a Covert brand, which advertises a 2 year warranty. The shipping time for me to send the old one and receive the new one puts the camera in shipping more than in the field. I am going to check out the Covert camera brand. I will never buy this Creative JUNK again!!! Dishonest people selling Chinese JUNK!!!
