Oakley Oo9429 Siphon Sunglasses

I have three pairs of Siphon in polarized ruby. The tint is amazing. I like it better than the comparable lenses in Costa and Maui Jim. It’s the perfect balance of tint and light transmission. Never too dark, never too light. Great tint, poor quality. The durability of the lenses is horrendous (it’s not just this model, it’s all Oakley’s within the last few years). I was super careful with my first pair. I bought them at a Sunglass Hut for full price when they first came out. I only ever cleaned them with a clean microfiber towel. They started to swirl and scratch within 3-4 months. So, I bought two more on Amazon for “clearance” pricing because I like the tint so much. Same with them. I have Maui and Costa plastic lensed shades that have lasted years. I won’t even begin to compare the Oakley lenses to any of the glass lens offerings from other brands. Bottom line, if you love the tint, buy 3-4 pairs. They’ll each last 6 months of so before they start to get annoying to look through (and that’s treating them extremely well, if you’re hard on glasses look elsewhere).
