Beautiful and worth the buy! Thick too!

Beautiful and great! I see what people mean about the smell, but the smell does not bother me. It just smells new and a little like rubber but it doesn’t smell bad. This is my first Gaiam mat; before this I was buying a generic one through Amazon I think called Yoga Accessories. This Gaiam is only $2 more and seems like it’s better quality. But I will add that I mainly use it as a workout mat as opposed to a yoga mat, so I can’t speak to the slippery aspect as much.

Gaiam Mat Review
By Brittney Renee on Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2011
The picture on the web is not the same color as the mat. The leaves are a more purple color and the mat appears blue but is actually purple. It is pretty slippery, fine for pilates, but I had to buy a Gaiam Yoga Mat Towel and will be using that over the mat to prevent slipping in Yoga. Not a big deal, however, had I known it was a more slippery material I would have gone with another mat instead of spening the money on the towel, in addition to the mat. The past 2 mats I have had have not had a slippery issue. I would advise to add these to your product description so people are not disappointed. Once you use it you cant return it, problem is you dont know until you use it! Also, I received this mat later then the date expected.Pros:The thickness of the mat is perfect. The mat doesnt have too strong of a smell like most mats when they are new (I recommend rolling it out and letting it breathe over night before your first use.)
