Gregory Jade 53L Women's Backpack

I bought this for my mom so I can drag her along on overnight backpacking trips with me. She really likes it! I have a Gregory Zulu 55+ from a couple seasons back, and this has a few bells and whistles that mine doesn't: an elastic sunglasses loop, a built-in safety whistle (not sure, but I don't think it's as effective as the whistle I purchased separately), and a nicer belt/buckle layout. My only problem with it is that it's not as sturdy as mine is. The shoulder straps are attached to like a cardboard-ish panel that slides into a pouch and velcros in place--which doesn't seem so very sturdy, but I guess it's alright. The frame, though, seems flimsier than mine: which is alright, for our purposes, because she's just hauling clothes and a tiny bit of gear (hey, she's almost 70...she's allowed to put her son to work!). But if one of my girlfriends ever wanted to borrow it, I don't know that it would hold up as well as mine. My Zulu, well, I load it up with all my gear plus medicine balls for training hikes, and it handles great, I just don't think hers could do it. All in all, though, I'm pretty happy with it. I have yet to find the woman who wants to load up her pack with medicine balls just for the heckuvit.
