Too hard, really expensive

My boyfriend has a pair of Reefs that are like a big thick bouncy mattress- I was hoping these would be similar. They are not. The soles are hard, not much cushion- while the arch support is great, for me it's just too expensive for a pair of sandals that aren't amazing. Returning.
