Best hammock bug net
By G on Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2019
Did a google search for “best hammock bug net”, found this one, bought it, took it out the next day for a 4-day backpacking trip and I’m so happy I did. I have the eno doublenest hammock and had originally searched for their bug net, but realized they have a vertical zipper and that doesn’t make any sense to me. This one has a horizontal zipper that’s plenty easy to get in and out of the hammock with. The netting is fine enough that the onslaught of mosquitoes we had couldn’t touch me while inside of it, but not so much that I had to worry about it tearing or snagging easily. Of course proper hammock hygiene is to throw it over your shoulder when setting up so as to not let any of it touch the ground, and the same goes for this net. Take care of it and it will return the favor for a long time. Plus it all fits within its own pocket (just like the eno hammocks) so tear down is a breeze. The only con I can think of is that the built in compression strap that wraps around the whole thing when its stuffed into its pocket doesn’t stay tight, so with that setup it has potential to take up more room in your pack than necessary. But a separate compression bag would easily fix that. Highly recommended and will be my go-to for assembling another hammock kit for my wife in the future.

I litterally sleep every day in a hammock.

Positives: The mesh size is very good. I love the horizontal zipper. Airflow is reasonable. The mesh feels good on the skin. The size is excellent for a double hammock. The negatives: One zipper sticks a little while the other works perfectly. It is not a deal breaker though. Special care must be given to the draw cords at the ends because they seem to open easily allowing critters inside. I think with practice one could work around this but I have used others that seem a little easier. There are snags all over the fabric after just FOUR days of use. The thing that kills me here is that the first three times I used it I set up and tore down in the dark. I don't know if the snags we're there in the beginning. Even more strange is that some of these snags are on the INSIDE of the net. How is this possible as the net has never been turned inside out? I love that horizontal zipper bit I am going to return this. Update: I replaced this with Foxelli XL Hammock Net – 12ft Net for Hammocks. It is a much better product. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FYL3LCC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
