WOW!!!
By Matthias on Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2020
I got these in the mail about a week ago and just used them this morning and I have to say.... Wow!! I put them on my legs (they have to be as far up the leg as you can get them btw, keep them proximal to your torso) and started a very low intensity bodyweight leg workout in my bedroom with limited space. Just a few rounds of sumo squats, regular squats, and adductor planks. And wow.. after just two sets of 10 reps I WAS SWEATING!! HEAVILY!! Guys... I do 30 miles of biking/elliptical a week and powerlift and these things had me sweating buckets and feeling like I was getting a great workout in with a couple unweighted squats. These are the real deal. I DEFINITELY recommend. Be careful though, don't pull them so tight you cut off circulation completely. And make sure to lay down once you're finished with your workout. I got some orthostatic hypotension afterwards (like when you stand up too quickly and your vision goes black) but it resolved within the hour. And totally understandable how it would happen. There's legitimate peer reviewed research that backs these things up. Who woulda thought tying up your legs was the key to strength? Lol

A shadow of BFR - A possible low cost way to try BFR but don't expect the same results
By Bob Tobias on Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2021
After some BFR sessions with my Physical Therapist, I'm convinced it can be good stuff. With the help of his $1k+ SmartCuffs, I get fatigued muscles quickly and with little effort. I figured, why not get something I can use at home? I liked these BFR Bands because they cost a lot less. Unfortunately and not surprisingly, they don't work nearly as well. More to the point, it isn't easy getting them to work at all. The bands tend to pinch as I'm tightening them. They're narrow enough that they feel uncomfortable. The bands tend to slip down while I'm exercising. And most importantly, the results of doing the same exercises using these bands are nothing like what I'm used to. My point isn't that these don't compare to a product that costs 50x as much. My concern is that, after having an opportunity to experience what BFR therapy is supposed to be, I can see that these bands can't deliver what they promise.
