Simple, High Quality, Efficiency
By M. Paulson on Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2021
After reading independent reviews on low cost, small stationery bikes, this product was repeatedly chosen as a "Best". And the reviews on Amazon was strongly favorable. I decided on the sturdier model (up to 400 lbs) not so much that I needed it for the weight but it appeared to be the newest model. The price was a bit more (vs. 300 lb model) but I have no regrets although it appears the less expensive probably is excellent. My biggest concern was assembling it even though many reviews stated it was easy even for phobic, less skilled types. But I am happy to report that I am now a very happy customer. Shipping was fast and efficient. Unpacking the box might be the most challenging part given the efficient manner by which it was packed. I started off the assembly by only using the instruction manual which has it's limits even though they do a good job. I remembered seeing a review recommending following a YouTube video on assembling the bike and it was the best thing I could have done. Highly recommend it....there are a few and I wound up using two different ones. I wish I remember the titles but I simply searched by company name and model. The first video was excellent which had easy listening music and a simple, slow approach with a female instructor. But this video was for the older model and didn't have instructions on the console for the 400 lb. model which is the most challenging part. I found another video that helped with this. By combining the instruction book with watching the video it became quite easy to assemble. No doubt the most challenging part is the tension cable which took me awhile to make sense of it. I couldn't really understand from the instruction manual so this is where the video helped but I think others might have less of a challenge in that it ultimately is very easy just awkward before I realized how it works. So, once you've unpacked and cleared out your area with the packing material and just have the parts it should take not too much time to assemble....about an hour and a half but many can get through it within an hour and probably not much more than two if you're extra deliberate as I am. Now the best part is actually using the bike. I do a fair amount of road cycling and wanted a simple bike for staying tuned and cardio during off days, bad weather and convenience. No bells and whistles. This product actually gives you what once were bells and whistles in a simple manner....for instance pulse measurement which I love for monitoring my workout. Easy read monitor with simple utilization. The ride is quiet and reasonably comfortable. I am use to a cycle saddle so this wide, Cadillac version allows for cruising easier but I had no problem moving up on the seat when I wanted to really pump. The front position of the pedals is also different from a performance cycling position but again it is really good for how I attend to use it. i have no problem getting my heart rate up and breaking a nice sweat. I noticed the quads get utilized a bit more than from a traditional cycling position, fyi. The tension is easily positioned to adjust throughout the ride and I have no problem manually creating my own workout. Worth the savings. Overall this bike is built very solid, looks better in person and am very pleased with it's simplicity and effectiveness. Highly recommend for all types looking for a simple, effective and home available workout.

It's decent. 4/5 for normal folks. Personally 3/5 for me.

So like a good many people, being stuck at home with the parks closed, limited space, and etc, I looked into a bike to use during periods of extended stay at home.I looked into many bikes on amazon within my budget, and this one (originally the previous version) was the one that caught my eye.For build quality, if I were to rate this out of 5...it would get a 3. I say this because during the build, the quality of the parts didn’t feel like how all of the reviews made it seem to be. My father helped me out during the build, and commented and the bare minimum level quality of the tools you get and etc. That’s really what makes the build a minor issue. You would think that you could go firm when screwing things in, but trying to do that, it makes you feel like you’re going to break the bike piece! A comment my father made rings a bit true. “They don’t build these things to be put together by people who know parts or tools. They just dumb it down for people who have never touched a tool!” That’s my quick quip about the building process. Parts seem good. Your tools are bare minimum level quality and don’t go too firm or hard when screwing things in. It's sturdy, but I would not put all of your weight on one point of it. For example, don't lean all the way forward, or put all your weight to one particular side!Using the bike, I would say things are a 3.5 or 4 out of 5. Look, you’re not going to get the same workout you would comparing this product to a bike you would use at the gym or one of those $500-$700 bikes. These bikes are more for being “active” versus training or working out. It’s better than doing nothing at all. If you think that you’re buying this bike to train or workout, it’s the wrong product for you! Resistance levels feel good, and gives a decent warmth to the muscles after some time. But I would not risk trying to do HIIT training too often on this bike. MAYBE 2-3 times a week at most. The seat cushion could be better. For something so wide or large, you're not actually using the whole seat when you're using the bike and prolonged use of the bike will cause discomfort below. Maybe you get used to it, or more cushion to where you personally need it most!Overall, I would say this product is good for BEGINNERS or those who feel intimidation, shyness, or some kind of adverse feeling towards going to the gym or being out in public. Or, like in recent situations at the time of this review, you’re stuck at home! This bike is a “better than nothing” solution (one of many). This can definitely compliment a healthy diet and lifestyle, but don’t expect this to be the sole way to workout and lose weight. They say, abs are made in the kitchen and that’s 1000% true. Burn like 100-200+ calories using this bike and use that to compliment you eating less each day (250 to 500 calories a day less!) You will lose weight that way if you’re looking to lose weight.I will revise this review if, over time, the parts break quickly or if there’s something that’s worth mentioning. Or if this gives some results after a good 2-3 months of use! For now, this product gets a decent 4/5, for those who are new to exercising (note I don't say working out and training). 3/5 for those who are used to the gym or are more experienced!
