Great for the outdoors! Lightweight and durable

This set is great for picnics. I think the price is fantastic for what you are getting. One of the most important aspects of this set is that they are very lightweight and stackable. I am able to fit them into a wooden picnic basket that does not have a super strong bottom. If the dishes were too heavy, they would fall through the woven wood. It would be very inconvenient to have heavy dishes if you were out camping or hiking. These were definitely made for the outdoors. The silverware, however, is a bit heavy. For longer trips if you are hiking, you might want to consider bringing some plastic utensils instead that you can reuse instead of the silver that is included with this kit. For shorter trips or picnics in the park, the enamelware silverware will do just fine. The set includes enough dishes for four people to enjoy a meal and beverage. Note that you will need some other bowls and containers to carry the food to portion out to these enamelware dishes. The mugs are a little small — I do wish that they would hold a bit more liquid. It feels like just a few gulps of tea and the cup is empty. Quality-wise the enamelware is perfect for the outdoors. I don’t think you could break them or chip them unless you intentionally picked them up and hurled them at a tree. It might be possible to put dents in them, but they stack nicely for travel and that shouldn’t be an issue. Regarding color: you have a choice of blue or red. The enamel is speckled with white flakes. Since I have a blue plaid picnic cloth, I decided to go with blue. Note that color has a psychological effect on our perception of hunger and appetite. Blue suppresses the appetite, as it is a color that is rarely found in nature. When it is found nature it typically indicates a poisonous substance. So naturally, as humans, we have a propensity to avoid most blue foods (although blueberries are somehow okay). So, the blue may suppress your appetite. This can be a good thing if you are trying to eat less, but if you really want to enjoy your food more the red set might be better. Note that all fast food restaurants have logos that are red and orange. These are the most appetizing colors. The color may not matter that much though, it depends on your personal aesthetic and how you feel the color affects you. I really do love the blue enamelware, but sometimes I wish I had gotten the red. Bottom line: Great outdoor dining set! Looks great, is lightweight, and durable.

Beautiful, lightweight camping set

I’d like to give a higher review but the supplied silverware does leave something to be desired. It is flimsy but serviceable. If I were cutting a steak, though, I’d do it with a different knife and, possibly, a different surface to protect the coating. Also, if something acidic were to be left on the plate for very long, it can dull the shine (mine did with mustard). I do use the dishwasher on these sometimes and I’ve noticed a few of the plates also now losing their luster. If I want to polish them up, I rub a little food safe cooking oil on them but I don’t put them in a heated oven or other appliance because that can lead to build up and cooked on discoloration that won’t be able to be removed. While I understand the mustard, I’m at a loss as far as why only some of the items are losing their gloss but they do their job serviceably.
