Comfortable, Well Made
By Steven Y. on Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2016
This is primarily for my single engine Carbon Cub Airplane. Thus I needed the option to have Only Manual inflation mode, since you would never want automatic inflation Inside a ditched airplane. I'm 6'-2" & 210lbs, and there is no problem with a nice fit, with room for a larger person. The instructions are clear and the vest has easy re-pack instructions on it. The padded pockets with zippers are great for keys, etc. it comes with a nice mesh carry bag. The Manual Cap is tucked inside the vest in a small pocket. Customer service is outstanding.

Problematic Oral Inflation, Needs Crotch Strap
By PeteCress on Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2015
- On a grading scale of A-F, I give the instructions a D+..- If the user is in the water and needs to orally inflate this thing, I think the user has a problem.. I tested it today in cold water.. Managed to peel away enough Velcro to get maybe 1/4 to 1/3 inflation at first.... then managed to peel away the rest - but it could have gone either way given frozen fingers.. To enable use with oral-only inflaction there needs to be a way to release the Velcro all around while the PFD is being worn. I plan to sew tabs or knotted pull strings in strategic locations once I figure out where those locations are..- An in-water test fully inflated confirmed my suspicion that this thing needs crotch straps.... It simply rides up too high. I added crotch straps and that remedied the situation.. But without something to keep it from riding up so much I can envision situations where this PFD might hurt more than help.. - It is awfully short. I guess this is a variation of the prior item, but when inflated without the crotch user-added straps cinched up, it is more like a ring around my neck than a PFD.- The instructions contain the ominous phrase "Whenever you orally inflate the PFD, it would be a good practice to remove the (CO2) cylinder prior to inflating"...... From that I would suspect that there is no pressure relief valve and that pulling the inflation cord while the PFD is manually inflated will rupture the bladder.. They need to come out and say it - one way or the other: is the user out of luck if they pull the inflation cord while it is already manually inflated or not ??
