Great Ultralight Pack
By Amazon Customer on Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2016
I really like this pack. I haven't backpacked in quite a few years, so my last pack was an old external frame that weighed about twice as much as this one. and wore on my shoulders. I'm 6' 1" and about 210 pounds, so I purchased the large version. The internal frame consists of an inflatable pad, that is blown up using the bulb located inside one of the waist belt pockets. You just put on the pack and inflate the pad to the point it feels comfortable on your back. On my last trip, which was a solo trip for 7 days, I had about 35 pounds of gear, food and water. I was amazed at what a difference it would be to go from the external frame to the internal frame. This is the most comfortable pack I've ever owned. The pack is well designed, the two pockets on the waist belt are large enough for a cell phone, GPS, snacks. the two side compartments easily held two water bottles. The main compartment was large enough for food, tent, sleeping bag, cook kit, first aid kit and clothes. The pack was so well centered on my back, I had no issues with my shoulders or hips feeling strained or uncomfortable. The only issue I had, was storing my extra water in my bladder bag. It will accommodate the tube on either the right or left side of the bag, but it doesn't have a built in sleeve in the main bag to store it. That would have been much better in my opinion. I'm just getting started with ultralight backpacking, This was one of my first purchases for this type of equipment and I was extremely happy finding and purchasing this bag. Now all I need is an ultralight sleeping bag and an ultralight tent and my base system will be good to go. It won't be for a while, but I plan on using this pack to hike the Arizona trail. I highly recommend this pack to anyone in the market for a light but heavy duty pack with a load rating up to 55 pounds.

The most awful backpack I've ever used
By Jenn on Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2018
I cannot explain the amount of anger I feel when even thinking about this pack. The terrible design. The fact that it helped to ruin what was supposed to be a 75-mile trip. None of the straps stayed put. I tried to counteract this by putting leukotape around and tying knots in the straps. Still didn't help. The chest strap kept coming detached (usually multiple times an hour), and it's not necessarily easy to re-attach, either. I didn't have any tape left to spare for that strap, but man do I wish I did! Whatever you do, don't put ANYTHING in the bottom tool straps. I lost my tent poles that way. Hey, I guess it's my fault for expecting those straps to hold ANYTHING. Took a 6 mile trip BACK to find those tent poles. The pack itself sways constantly because of the strap issues, which is especially dangerous when hiking on any kind of incline or rocky surface. The brain won't stay tight over the backstraps/frame (which isn't very helpful, btw), and so if it rains expect water to just funnel into the top-loading main compartment - which won't close completely. I'm glad I had a dry-sack, but that's still a ridiculous design. The hip belt is attached with velcro, and will also become detached because of the swaying, etc. TLDR: I hated it. Absolutely friggin hated it. Zero Stars. Pros: Uh, color? I like black. Compresses decently Side pockets were adequately sized Cons: Water funnels into main compartment because of poorly designed brain Chest strap keeps detaching because of poorly designed attachment device Load-lifter straps and other straps won't stay put Tool straps will somehow loosen despite your best efforts, dropping anything that you tried to attach to the outside of your pack No good way to keep anything that's wet, cause back pocket isn't mesh When closed, brain will cover the zipper of the back pocket, so make sure you close the zipper downward Hip pockets have zippers that close frustratingly wrong.
