Very Cool Looking Machete!
By Ospreyy on Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2016
Very cool looking machete! It is very solid and as heavy as it looks (1 lb 3 oz, with sheath 1 lb 7.5 oz). I paid $20 for it and would have been happy if I paid $40 for it. It is full tang, well balanced, and the sheath is first rate. It is sharp out of the box as I would expect. It destroys the vegetation that a machete is supposed to very quickly. Its biggest drawback for lots of hacking is that it is heavy, but that also delivers a huge whack in each stroke. I can see why people think it can cut down pine trees -- it feels very powerful in your hand. But machetes are tools for soft vegetation and bamboo, and not pine trees. I didn't use it to chop hard pine because I use an axe and saw to cut pine and not a machete. It is not a blade for heavy duty use every day for years, An every-day blade would and should cost hundreds of dollars. If you want a machete for months of work, invest in professional grade work tools. If you want a very cool machete, and works well for occasional use, this is quite a bargain.

By Richard Heck on Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2014
I used it for small brush , cleared almost nothing . Tried using it on a small tree for a small fire while i was camping in NC , the blade now has two huge bends in it . awful quality , not reliable , would not recommend . I expected better from SOG .
