Love it but listing cons
By Private on Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2024
As an inflatable kayak, it works great. I have 4 kayaks and this is my "solo lazy" kayak. It maneuvers fairly easy in the water. Compared to my first kayak, a cheap kayak I bought at a local sporting good store, this inflatable is far better but of course it doesn't compare at all to my much more expensive kayak. I love this kayak for going out on the lake solo but I'm going to list the cons. The seat is uncomfortable, so I stopped using it. Without the seat, it's very comfortable and I usually find a secluded spot and just lay down. The inflatable backrest serves as a great pillow and I'm able to slowly paddle laying down while enjoying the breeze and the birds. (I'm 5'3 and I fit quite well in a lying position.) There is one air valve on the right that I have accidently opened twice and it started deflating. I have since learned to slap some duct tape on it before I head out now. I haven't learned to fold it back up for storage properly but in all fairness, I didn't take the time to learn. I just fold it up and go. It deflates quickly and is easy to clean. The pump works fine but I bought an electric pump so I don't use the pump that it came with it. Now to the the paddle, it's junk. Take it straight to the garbage can where it belongs. There are too many flaws on the paddle to mention. I realize I listed all the cons but I still love this kayak for lazy lake days. It's easy to transport, inflate and deflate. It's convenient. I just throw it in the back and drive. When I'm out on the water, it often feels like I'm on an air mattress and I have been known to fall asleep. It is an inflatable so you have to compare it to other inflatables. I wouldn't use it for more serious kayaking days. It is sturdy though. Once, I got stuck on rocks and I had to get out and drag it across the rocks. Another time, I was kayaking past some fallen trees and I was worried about the branches scraping against the kayak. The kayak stood up just fine, it's very durable.

Boat is fine and recommendable - support is miserable and ignorant
By Kurt on Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2015
I begin with the boat itself. I agree with all reviewers and want to confirm that I'm very happy with this boat too! I bought other paddles along with the order so I never used the original ones. I never paddled before, so the first paddling was a very positive surprise and I paddled 5 miles and hat lot of fun. The boat is very stable and forgives every little fault. Inflating and getting ready for the lake or sea is done in 5 minutes - the opposite way needs the same amount of time, maybe a little longer. I don't know how fast I would go with a real kayak but it's fast enough for me and I reached every place where I wanted to go in no time. The boat fits perfectly into the back of even a small car (Ford Focus). Up to this line I would rate the boat with five stars. But her comes the support side: The boat comes with a very confusing manual regarding the order of inflating the three valves. First it says "IMPORTANT!" Inflate the product chambers in the following order: 1. floor chamber 2. DIN chamber 3. outside main chamber In the following illustrated pages the order is: 1. Outer chamber 2. DIN chamber 3. floor chamber So I do not know up to today what the correct order is! Additionally it is said that you shpuld inflate the chambers to 0.9 PSI. I wanted to know the correct pressure and how to find it out , so I called the company and they sent me a manometer with overnight shipping - but this didn't fit. Maybe it fits to other Sevylor inflatables but not with this one. Itried everything out. My last effort was to send an email to the company asking them to enlighten my problems but didn't get an answer within 3 days. Refreshing my inquiry didn't help either. So with these experiences with the support of Sevylor I would have given the boat zero points. But I really like the boat know although I do not know if my order of inflating the valves is right or if the pressure is too high or to low. Maybe somebody who's reading this review knows and could give an answer to help next buyers ...
