Great scooter for kids, teens or college size. Great quality. Definitely check all the nuts and bolts first. Easy to assemble.

Age specifications not in line with ad, brake issue, use of 2 years. Still a big 0 on this product

Folks: If you are looking at this for your yonger kids, here are some things I noted when I got this as gift to share between my 5 and 7 year old girls.PROS: Seems to be well made and durable, but too early in life/use to really say. So this pro is subject to change in future.CONS:1) The hand breaks are too far from handle to be comfortably pulled by even my 7 year old (she is taller than 90% of her peers, and her hand.finger length is as well). Point being: it is almost impossible for younger kids to apply hand breaks on down hill roll.2) The unit, for some unknown reason, seems to have a LOT of drag. In otherwords it does not glide like the less expensive scooters with smaller wheels. We have another scooter with MUCH smaller wheels that my oldest gravitates to, as opposed to this Mongoose, simply because it "goes faster" for her. Breaks are adjusted properly ,and do not rub, tires properly inflated so not sure why it is slower.3) The spokes on the tires have not been tuned. Once mounting the tires into fork, and tightening, you will notice a wobble. It is not significant but it is noticeable.4) The BACK break caliper protrudes from the scooter and both of my girls "lost skin" around inner right ankles due to rubbing inside of ankle across when "pushing" with right foot. This also means that the Back Axel Pegs protrude WAY too much. We had to remove those after first use. These are a great idea , and I was real excited that my girls could tandem on the SCooter, but given the POSTS close proximity to the driver's rigth foot during pushing, it makes them unuseable.5) Be prepared to spend 1.5-2 hours assembling. Having ratchet/socket helps. To be honest, i had high expectations for this scooter, but after 2 years and sorely dissappointed.I was hopeful someone (seller? Manufacture?) would tell me how to overcome any/all of the above issues as I would like my girls to enjoy it. 2 years of this question issue and the vendor/mfgr has been "Crickets" which indicates they know about these engineering isses but are not able to adress. This item has been relegated to the "island of lost toys".In fairness to the brand/model, If I do remediate any of the above I will update this post.
