Not better than Streamlight by any measure
By PAPA.AMG on Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2013
Bought this and then had to buy a Streamlight 69260 TLR-1 HL High Lumen Rail-Mounted Tactical Light elsewhere as my Postal Service is horrible and loses items often. Compared the two below. QUALITY: Streamlight This Surefire has a plastic mount held on with 6 hex screws which MUST be loosened to mount on most applications. The package does come with loctite which is required as the screws will loosen up over time. I have read more than a few comments on forums with people stating this light does not properly fit standard P rails. PLASTIC folks! Check out the favorite video website for a comparison to the TLR-1 HL. The Streamlight is ALL metal. Clicks on the rail within a second. This Surefire screams Chinese made all over it. SWITCH: The switch on the Surefire is very spongy and requires more effort than it should requiring a counter force on the weapon, lacking any real quality click, again something the TLR-1 HL has. BEAM: Streamlight all the way The Streamlight is not only brighter, it has a substantially superior spill to it vs. this Surefire. Again, check out comparisons on 'distance' beam shots. Not the comparisons of 10' videos. FUNCTION: Streanmlight No strobe feature available on the Surefire. Really? So much for a serious tactical light. AETHETICS: Surefire If looks is important, the Streamfire has a funky "Escalade' polished ring on the end of it. Why, who knows. Overall, if you have nothing else to compare it to, then of course your going to like the Surefire X300 Ultra. However, once you compare it side by side to the Streamlight, no comparison. Additionally the Sreamlight is .5" shorter vs. this Surefire. Weight is 4oz for the Surefire, 4.1oz for the Streamlight. EDIT: Several have stated that due to the plastic mount, this Surefire has been known to 'pop' off a weapon on hi-recoil situations such as a shot gun. FYI. Plastic does not belong on a $220 weapon light.
