Solid and efficient

I have some back problems... 4 herniated discs in my spine. My doctors always recommend me to find ways to stretch my back to alleviate the potential pain. I was thinking of buying a inversion table or some equipment of the kind but I kept on delaying it. Now it is done with this table. It came pretty fast, a big box, large and pretty heavy. It took me about a hour to mount it. I took my time doing it... All the tools are in the box to do it. Being two may be better than alone to install it because there are heavy pieces to move around. The instructions are there too but I did not find them very useful at times. Do pay attention while doing it because there are possibilities to assemble things the wrong way. The way it works is by playing with your center of gravity. You have to set the table for your height or for an height that, once laying perfectly flat with your arms crossed on your chest, your body pivots automatically to the back. Then by just moving your arms, you can play with your inclination until you get to fully reversed and literally hanging from your ankles. In consequence, do make sure your ankles are secured tight. It works quite well. I had to set my height to taller than I normally am but I have now no fear of being stuck hanging. What's to like: - Works well to invert you - Steady enough to allow you working on your abs or stretching - Make you feel secure when using it What I like less: - Bulky, even when folded and very heavy - Acupressure Nodes useless gimmick (some are really painful because too hard, some others do not stay put) - My setup does not follow the guidelines to keep me fully inverted (there are 3 holes and the only that works for me and all who tried it at my place is for weights superior to 230 Lbs) - It is easy to make a mistake during the montage. Make sure everything aligns properly. Bottom line, It is a good inversion table. Since I do not want to break my neck trying to fix it, I am ok to live with the bulk generated by the solidity of the table. Anything capable of injuring you deserves a fair investment to insure best quality and security. I feel that this table respect the the safety rules. Now, staying hung gets painful for your ankles after a while. I may need a bit of time to get used to it but after a couple of minutes, I always start feeling some pain in my ankles and I know it is time. Results wise, it is too early for me to tell. All I can say is that the blood rush I feared is not there nor the dizziness after coming back up. I would definitely recommend it to anyone suffering of pinched nerves (herniated discs). Ask your doctor first before attempting if you really are in pain. Edit 03/13/14 I am coming for an update. Everything works fine, nothing broke or went bad since my last review. With the time the use gets easier and everyone coming to my place tried it at least once :) Now is it really making me feel better? I cannot really tell... It can be relaxing for sure but I think I would need to stay longer than a minute at a time to get any real benefit, the time to really relax all your muscles and let the gravity do its job in stretching you. It could take a while to get used to staying inverted 10mn or more... So my conclusion for the moment is that the table needs a proper and dedicated use to bring benefits. Otherwise it is just a fun toy. I have decided to increase its rating to 5 stars because the bulk and weight are actually reassuring (even if it is a pain to move it around) and because to get you inverted safely this product is great!

Ankles arn't made to hold you like this.

This item occupies my second bedroom. It looks at me every time I walk by with the expression of disappointment and longing to be used. I feel guilt each time I walk by and refuse its company as it stands motionless in the dark waiting to be inverted and serve its purpose. Truthfully I bought this for my wife so there is no reason for me to be jealous. Truth be told though I bought it off Amazon thinking that I too could jump like a 72 year old eventually. My back was in pain all the time and I hoped that buying this would relieve it. However it eventually made it so I could jump the same distance I could before. Assembly: Putting it together was difficult at first and then became easier as I assembled it like a hero. Instructions were key to getting this together. Use: The first time I used it I was confused. It was after all not something intuitive. My first try and flipped backward so hard it was like I slipped on a banana peel. Then after realizing I needed to adjust the strap. I adjusted it and then used my balance to slowly invert. The blood rushed to my head, my heart pounded in my chest and I felt like I was having trouble breathing. After the third time it normalized and I could. I did some online looking and found that 5 minutes was as long as I should go. Over time things started feeling a bit better but still hurt. This did not relieve pain like it said it would. I eventually looked and found that this product is great for the lower back but other than that you won't get the results promised by TV. This is really and over priced inversion table no different from any other. The normal feeling I got was that my ankles were going to separate long before my back was. After a while the ankles just did not want to do anymore. The improvement I would suggest is that they add in support that stretches from the top of the calf down to the ankle to provide more of a leg support than they currently have. CONCLUSION - This is another piece of gym equipment you will buy, use for the first week, and then realize you haven't used it in months. Spend the money on a good chiropractor or some moon boots.
