The best part about this plate was the price. I snagged it for $51 and some change. Other than that, it's the quality you should expect from dmt. It's flat, even particle size and distribution and cuts fast. It puts a nice even scratch pattern on my knives and reprofiles blades quickly. Now if I can find matching plates in fine and extra fine for a similar cost, I'll be set.

Unfortunately the diamond plate is not flat. There is a visible hollow area which can be felt when sharpening and thus makes it unusable for flattening the back of chisels and plane blades. This should have been caught in QC and not left the factory.
