Crimson Trace Rail Master Universal Laser Black

UPDATE: switching from 5 stars to 3 while I work with crimson trace on an issue. I took it to the range with a shotgun. worked great for 8 rounds. exactly what I hoped for. very visible in daylight. perfect. but, for the next several rounds I had issues. seemed like it turned off or was so dim I could not longer see the dot. this happened several times - in a bad way. later, when i got home, it was working ok again. not sure if I have a defective unit (not thinking so, but possible), or the design simply can't handle the recoil (maybe). I took the battery out and put it back in. seemed ok, not a lot that can go wrong with a battery in this unit, so not sure what is going on. I contacted crimson trace and will report back. original review follows: was looking for a laser to attach to my shotgun. I am good with the iron sights, but you never know if something might happen and you can't use the sights. the laser is just an additional option to help give you an edge. wanted something rail based so I could swap it out to other firearms if I cared to. never had a laser before. found this. Crimson Trace has a good reputation and the reviews were positive. I bought it. very bright laser light. solid attachment. adjustable. tools for adjustments included. I had to give it a 'slight' adjustment becuase of how I have it mounted, but no worries; easy to do. several other pieces included for various firearm rails (I didn't need them). nicely packaged for the trip to my home from the factory. good price for what you get. MADE IN USA. quite frankly, now that I have it, I don't see how I lived without it. I can see this as being so simple and effective in high stress situations (and if you have to use a shotgun for other than target shooting, how much more stressful can a situation be?)
