Love My Trike!
By D. Anderson on Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2019
I've been looking for a long time to find something I can ride on the nature trail close to my house. I'm 55, fat, lazy, and a weakling. I also have a balance disorder that won't allow me to use a two-wheeled velocipede. I've purchased and returned several vehicles that looked like great fun and great exercise, but were too hard to pedal or otherwise make them move. I was quite discouraged. Other recumbent trikes caught my eye, but they were too pricey.I took delivery of the Mobo Triton Pro in early February, and it sat in its box in my foyer while winter continued to rage on. We finally had relief from it just this past week. My son assembled my trike (the Youtube video is very helpful!) yesterday and it went back to the foyer to wait out the rain. :-PToday the sun finally peeked out between the clouds and the temperature was perfect! So I took the trike out to my driveway for its maiden voyage. OH MY GOODNESS, I'm so excited and happy! It rides smoothly, the seat is comfortable, I can pedal just fine, and the trike manages the slight slope of my driveway very well. Steering became intuitive quickly (I'm a klutz) and the brakes work great. The turn radius is really wide, which might bother some, but I should be fine on the trail, which is pretty straight and level. the trike doesn't pedal in reverse, but I learned a 3-point turn which let me turn around at the base of the driveway and pedal back up to the street. I just put my feet on the ground as needed and pushed myself backward. No problemo!I made probably ten laps that way, to get the feel of pedaling and steering, and I can't wait to take it out on the trail! I can tell already it's going to be so much fun and get me in shape this summer! I was panting when I sat down after just the short time I'd been riding, and my thighs and shoulders are a bit achy LOL!I had been concerned that I wouldn't get much of a workout in my upper body, but I can tell steering and breaking are going to get my arms working quite a bit, too.I can't rave about the Mobo Triton Pro enough! It's going to get this sedentary old lady in shape and keep her active into her "golden" years! I highly recommend this vehicle for anyone, but particularly those of us getting older and wanting to get, or stay, active and have fun doing it!

Over Priced, slow

I purchased 2 of these bikes for my kids ages 9 and 11. I am a long distance runner and wanted to include my children in on my daily runs. The bikes looked comfortable enough for the kids to chase me around in.I didn't think twice about the price tag, I'm a believer of "you get what you pay for" therefore, I expected a sturdy cycle that would perform above and beyond. This is a single gear bicycle without a chain - what does that mean for the child? Your child will pedal as hard and as fast as he/she possibly can and the bicycle will not travel any faster. The front wheel is much to small to generate the required amount of friction to propel your child. Essentially, my children tired in less than half the time they would've in their traditional bikes. Not only were they fatigued, they were very frustrated.Aside from the lack of speed, the front wheel will not remain on the ground if they are on any kind of climb. We were riding on a smooth sidewalk with a gradual climb, nothing big - but the children could not keep the wheel on the ground long enough to gain any traction. All in all, it was a poor purchase. I would've rather purchased the cheapo Walmart bikes, saved myself about $500 and my children would've been incredibly happy. I just wish I'd kept the boxes so that I could've returned them. The assembly was as to be expected, lots of parts but the instructions were pleasantly clear.

Great Bike for Special Needs Child

I bought this bike for my 11 year old autistic son who is unable to master riding a traditional bike do to the severity of his autism. Overall this bike seems to be very well constructed with what appears to be high quality parts. Assembly took about 20 minutes with the help of another individual which is not needed but definitely easier. On the first ride of about 15 minutes he had some trouble figuring out the steering. By the second ride of 30 minutes he had it down quite well. The third ride was 45 minutes and I feel he had mastered the steering. I finally had to get him to head home because honestly mom and dad were tired. This bike seemed to be a great way for him to get exercise as other than swimming he does not like to do much else other than swinging some. The only thing I would change on this is the brake system. It is almost impossible for him to use do to his size/ age and hard for him to comprehend due to the autism. It would be nice if manufacturer could come up with a better system for braking. To combat this issue I secured a long dog leash to the back of the bike to stop him if needed or keep him at a slower pace as otherwise he would take off and I would need to run to keep up.Overall I am quite impressed with this bike and have no issue with the cost as he now has the ability to get some great exercise and a great bike. As for a typical child my daughter rides it and likes it but honestly I am not sure I would pay the cost if it was for a child who could ride a normal bike.

Works as described

My only complaint is I ordered a Brand-New trike and received a pre-assembled bike, as washer marks on painted surfaces showed it had been assembled before. The seat had slight splits in the sides not enough for me to go through the trouble of returning. Having said this I'm really happy with the bike I'm 76 years Old and while active I needed something to improve my aerobics, and this certainly does that. Most of the complaints I read were about the front wheel slips if going up a hill. So, as I knew about this, I added weights to the frame closest to that wheel and as I live on a hill it certainly helps maintain traction. Now to further improve that I'll make a z shaped metal bracket that will overhang the front wheel and with the weights now over that wheel it will increase leverage and should maintain good traction just a thought for future purchasers' bike is fun to ride especially coming back down a hill. I also created a hand brake by simply using two zip ties one around the handle with the brake lever and before tightening put another zip tie under the first tighten it to lock in place in line with top of brake lever, now just put the other zip tie around the brake lever creating a loop tighten enough just so brake pads are stopping the wheel from rolling this allows for the brake lever to be pulled a little more so that zip tie loop can be lifted off releasing the parking brake.

Bike arrived one day early, always nice, wasn't too hard to assemble, some screws a little tricky , once put together one of the inner tubes popped when I aired them up. Had to wait extra day to ride after I bought a new one.Let's talk about the ride, stears well, comfortable seat, only real problem is the gearing of the bike, not going up any hill over 10% Incline, wheels kept spinning on each hill, it's like a 21 speed in 2nd gear, not going anywhere fast. If you want to ride on flat ground for a slow ride , this is the bike, only way to get your heart rate up is to pedal fast and go 6mph. I was really disappointed in the bike , looks like it's gonna be my 10 year olds 2nf bike to play with.

This is everything it says it is. I have a bad back as well as balance issues, so a regular bike is no longer an option for me. This is so comfortable. I have had it about two weeks now and ridden it for miles all over town. It is not a normal bike so don’t expect it to work on mountain roads, dirt or gravel, or hilly terrain. It is designed for city use on sidewalks and paved greenbelts. It has no messy chain to worry about which is a plus and a minus. Minus - because there is one speed, so don’t expect to race along in a pack of bicyclists. Better to plan on cycling along with fast walkers and slow runners. Plus - because no chain maintenance or greasy clothing stains. The two rear tires were poorly manufactured and split open, one of them exploding the tube while I was riding it. Mobo instantly replaced the defective parts, which I appreciate. I still give the bike 5 stars. Everything else is solidly built and firm. The bike is small enough I can fit it in the back of my Subaru Forester, no folding or disassembling necessary, another plus. Great bike.
Exercise is actually fun on the Mobo Triton Pro!

I've had my Mobo Triton Pro out once so far, but it was a very fun ride. It ranged from easy pedaling (flat neighborhood streets) to a good quad/ab workout when I hit driveways or slight hills. I was very excited when I saw the ability of the cruiser's length to be adjusted, as I am 5'1" but my husband, who's likely to want to borrow this, is 6'. I expect we'll both be able to use it comfortably. Instructions are mostly pictures with a line or two. Assembly took about 80 minutes with a couple snags along the way, having to backtrack when we noticed something was in the wrong spot from how we interpreted previous steps. Seat's a bit harder than ideal, but is still in the comfortable realm. Brake was very reliable. Wish list items: cupholder (which Mobo sells on their website and I plan to get one) and some way to have a rear view mirror. In my sub, there's a lot of unfinished sidewalk, which puts me in the road. Seeing behind me would make me feel much safer. I was delighted to find this available and even a Prime item. I had waited for a different recumbent bike to be available and after 14 months of waiting, I was ready to move on and found this. There was a huge price point difference ($2400 vs Mobo's $350!). At the time of this review, the price has gone up a bit. The other one folded for storage, but this Mobo is likely to fit in my Escape. I'm trying that out soon.
Bought a second bike POOR customer service and support from both seller and manufacturer

I was initially excited to get these bikes. we hadn’t ridden them a dozen times on smooth pavement when one tire blew out, then another, replace both tires and inner tubes on one bike. Within a week the other bike did the same thing. The seller told me to contact the manufacturer, with no support from the seller. I asked the seller to contact the manufacturer. Also, they did not. The manufacturer did not respond. I wrote them twice. I had to replace the tires and inner tubes on my own out of my own pocket these bikes were under warranty. I got no support. I am really disappointed in this. Because the bikes get a lot of attention from many people that see them. It’s embarrassing when you have to roll your bike down a walking and bike trail and many people see it. I would not buy this product anymore, and I would not recommend due to the poor customer service, and product support.Update, the manufacturer finally responded, said they were trying to reach me via email and phone. Checked my spam box, after receiving the email, checked my phone, one out of area call. The manufacturer agrees to replace the tires and inner tubes for both bikes, waiting to see when they arrive. My wife and I like the bikes. I plan to buy another one when I move, since I cannot ship these.Update March 3, 2023. Poor product support, the manufacturer, refused to ship my replacement parts, said that I had to????? The fault was theirs, not mine. I would not recommend purchasing this product to anyone. Both seller and manufacturer did not stand behind the product. The warranty?? a waste.
Great trike, but needs a few upgrades

I bought this for my wife because we needed something gentler on her knees (and it is!). Our small town recently put in a bike trail that goes around the town, and this trike handles the paved roads nicely, though you get a bit of a workout on the inclines. As far as speed, it's all you, and according to her smart watch, we average about 3-4 mph (I'm on a regular bike, btw). Going downhill, keeping control appears to be a challenge if you hit >14mph.You do need a few upgrades! You will have to replace the tires immediately. If you ride every day for a week, they'll be bald. Buy literally any tire, it'll be better than what this comes with. Also, get some puncture-resistant tubes if you live in a town with spikey weeds. (I took off a star for the crappy tires, you'll have to invest probably an additional thirty bucks or so).

Bought this trike for our 8 yr old grandson. He only weighs about 65 lbs. He has balancing issues & this trike has been fantastic. He loves it. This is the adult size because we wanted him to grow with it & other is prefect!Only con: He is on a camping trip & a back tire blew out, because the tire is mad very cheaply. Yes, the Company should know that the back tires get more wear & tear, that's just trikes. For what this trike cost, they should be using a better quality tire. My grandson has only used it about 10 times & he only weighs 65 lbs. I can't even image an adult weighing over 150 lbs.!At the end of the day, we will just look for a higher quality trike tire to replace them. Like I said, he absolutely loves it & so does anyone that sees him on it.Mobo....please review the tires on these trikes!!
