Not the most intuitive, but works reliably
By Kirk W. on Reviewed in the United States on April 18, 2019
Pretty much a steal for the price. I purchased two for both my daughter & I to use. We've used them together on four dives so far, and she's used it on two additional ones. I really like the look & feel of the computer, and after the first few dives, I began to kinda love it. Both computers are still running on the original batteries - mine is still at 57%. Two things to note if you are considering the Nemo: 1. All the info you need to see during your dive is very clearly displayed, and has been dead-on accurate in comparisons with both my daughter's identical model and my analog gauges. With each use, as I gained more confidence in it, I have to say - it really is a pleasure to use! The LCD screen is super-easy to see and read, without having to fumble around to check your analogs. On the other hand, the pre and post-dive menus are nowhere near intuitive. I'm a very tech-savvy guy, and still find myself pulling out the user's manual before each dive in order to decipher how to set/confirm various settings like EAN, date, time, water type, etc. Hopefully, It'll get easier with more use, but there's clearly room for improvement in terms of the GUI and instructions. 2. There is no direct interface for importing your dive data from the Nemo Wide into your logbook software. As others have stated, in order to "free" your data from this computer, you're gonna need the Mares Drak interface cable. The Drak is proprietary and overpriced, but it's just something you need to accept if you want to use the Nemo data elsewhere (which I'm sure you do, since the integrated "logbook" on the computer itself is pretty clunky). I did end up buying the interface cable separately, and although I wasn't happy about the added expense, importing the data from this computer was super easy and super fast. Check the Mares website for compatibility with your software of choice, but don't fret if your program isn't listed... My daughter uses SubSurface, which recognized the computer instantly and downloads her dive data in seconds. I prefer MacDive, which does NOT recognize the Mares device, so I simply import my dives into SubSurface (there's no shortage of other free log programs out there), then convert the data to an XML file that imports to MacDive in a snap. The pic attached shows an example of data imported to MD. All-in-all, this is a great entry level DC, and a great value for the price (even with the added cost of the interface cable). It's a bit "clunky" to configure, but works flawlessly when it matters most! My budget won't be ready for an air-integrated DC anytime in the near future, so I plan on using this computer often! EDIT 7/5/19: After a recent update to MacDive, the Nemo Wide 2 is now natively recognized as a downloadable device. The Drak interactive cable is still required, but conversion / export from other programs is no longer necessary. As an added bonus, MacDive "remembers" each unique computer, so my daughter's and my own dive data are automatically added to our own respective logs. =)

dependent on a connecting for for computer
By robert d. white on Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2019
I liked the big face and somewhat easy to use buttons. what I did not like was the dependency on a cord connection to the computer. when I ordered it I checked to see if everything was includes with the cord. low and behold NO cd-rom listed in the book. well this was a nitemare trying to get the missing cd. first amazon said they would talk to the seller. ok so the seller contacted me and said no cd, just a long address to get the info for my computer. no way, when I tried all I got was ads for stuff. so back I went, and the seller told me try another address. uh nope again just more ads. so I got back to the seller and they said call the manufacturer. nope that was not going to happen. I would never buy another mares product again and the seller just put me through something they needed to do.
