Great rest for the price
By Tomato King on Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2024
Great product for the price. Obviously it's incomparable to more high-end shooting rests, but if you're someone who doesn't care about the bells and whistles, then this is it. Pro: Price - I think this might be the cheapest rest available, anywhere (of course I did only look for about 10 minutes). Size - very portable. You unscrew and it separates into two pieces that you can shove into your range bag. Performance - Again, don't expect any bells and whistles. It holds the rifle steady and does it well. Cons: Caldwell's attempt at adding 'bells and whistles' to this particular model, i.e. elevation adjustments, was unfortunate. The adjustments, while they did work, were not good. Diddling around with the knobs, leaves your rifle lopsided and then once you think you've leveled it out, your scope is now aimed too high. I gave up and simply used the rest to set my rifle on, and then used things laying around (cardboard, rocks, etc.) to then elevate the rest. Worked perfectly, was able to zero my rifle in, no problemo.

Decent for the price, but...
By David Williams on Reviewed in the United States on November 24, 2012
I was looking for an inexpensive shooting bench rest to sight in a new scope for my rifle. Considering how infrequently it would be used, I really didn't want to spend a lot of money. This rest fit the bill. It came unassembled, but assembly took about 5 minutes, with 5 screws and 4 thumb-tightened bolts (for the bridge connecting the front and rear rest). It functions as described, and I've used it with both pistols and rifles at this point. PROS: - Easily raise or lower the front rest (and lock at desired height) - Will not damage the finish of your firearm - Great price! CONS: - It's plastic, so it's light. Moves very easily, even with light-recoil weapons. - Rear rest is too low, in my opinion...although you could add a sandbag or padding - Rear rest also doesn't work well with some collapsible stocks - Bridge must be removed if using high-capacity magazines (i.e. AR-15 w/ 30-rnd mag) - With bridge removed, the stability of the front and rear rest is dramatically reduced - Have to fiddle with it to lay flat...tends to bow a bit in the middle. But my sight is now zeroed in, so it did it's job.
