This knife’s beautifully polished scales provide the structure for its sturdy R.I.L. mechanism, which is meticulously machined into the reverse-side scale and includes a stainless steel insert. The insert provides a long-wearing steel-to-steel interface for the lock and serves double duty as an overtravel stop to preserve the lock bar’s spring tension over time. The knife’s full-flat-ground PlainEdge blade offers superior edge geometry and maximizes D2’s excellent combination of edge retention and toughness. To ensure convenient carry and immediate access, the handle includes a broad-based pocket clip that can be mounted in four different positions to provide a choice of left or right-side, tip-up or tip-down carry.
