Why is it that in golf "putting" is pronounced "putt" while in everyday life "putting" is pronounced "put," except when you're talking about golf in everyday life or about a car "putting around," but then again, there's a car called a Golf, so maybe it's golf's fault. We don't know. It might help clear up the confusion if you buy a putter.
