I wish we could get these in .22 cal. Might as well go for a new silent version at this price.

Please do not increment my Quality Posts count. 69 is a good place to be. ;-)

If I could get an old model Gamo for this price I might bite. The plastic barrel with thin steel insert is not a quality piece. And these news ones have very few aftermarket options, besides scopes. I have an old Shadow 1000 on which I upgraded the trigger and did a tune, with a custom spring and better seals.

If it were fully automatic with 30mm depleted uranium armor piercing rounds I would be in for 3!

how loud do these get that the new ones have a silencer?

I always did like yardsales.

It's not really a silencer. The "Silent" part of the newer ones has more to do with lining the chamber with tar so the spring doesn't slap around and make a wierd, noisy "SPANK" sound when it's shot. It makes a thump instead when tuned properly. The big thing at the end of the barrel on the new ones just gives you something more substantial to grab hold of when cocking. If you use the PBA pellets, it breaks the sound barrier anyway and makes a louder "CRACK" sound.

Odd. I know MA has air gun laws but the zip 02135 is IN MA which is covered by the state list above. Weirdly redundant.

Ah, an easy read at this hour. No ranting yet. Maybe the naysayers are boycotting. Is this better or worse than the Crosman TR77?
