I'm going to the other extreme of the spectrum.

How dare you not sell real guns and live ammunition. I'm never shopping at this website again!

People are so disconnected from reality. A co-workers kids were playing with airsoft guns in their backyard. The swat team showed up to shut down their day of fun because somebody thought they were real guns.

I think people who hate guns know they aren't responsible enough to handle one. And they project their irresponsibility onto everybody else.

Soooo I checked the laws for a bit and it seems like there's no reason why you can't ship this to MI. I really want one and am aggravated that you're telling me I can't order this when I could have it shipped by Amazon for more money, what gives?

This is so wrong on so many levels. Can you imagine your kid playing with an assault rifle. I wonder what it would be like if he carried it to school for show and tell! I am embarrassed for woot. I have been a good customer for a long time and that stops today. Goodbye WOOT

It, nowhere says this is an airsoft gun. The statement just that air rifle and airsoft are not toys. It is normal general statement. This is a regular air rifle. Nothing more

Hey, lets ban rubber bands too! You could carry almost unlimited amounts of those, and you could put someones eye out!

Take the guns away from the people who have a legal right to own them, and the only peple who will have them are the people who don't have them legally.

How about we do a better job of screening people who apply for the permits... Just for a atart.

The chances of your child finding a gun unattended at a friend's house or on the street are much, much higher than the chances of them being a victim of a Sandy Hook.

Part of your responsibility is making sure that child recognizes that a gun isn't a toy and responds appropriately.

..... and continually reinforce why the gun isn't a toy. Let them hold it and look at it once an adult has made sure it's safe, and reinforce why the gun should be left where it is.

These are very basic safety obligations for you as a parent. Guns aren't just going to disappear, so please make sure your children aren't so fascinated by their mystery that they find it, hide it, and hurt themselves or their friends/siblings.

Well said! My son (whose now 17) has air soft guns. We keep THOSE locked up with the hunting rifles. He only gets to use it under supervision. We showed him gun safety and importance of not pointing it anyone (or having anyone point one at him). Just because you don't own a gun, doesn't mean some friend of your kid doesn't have one floating around the house.

My question to you would be...why would you let it just be lying around the house for him to bring it to school for show and tell? We keep my son's airsoft gun locked up and (although he's now 17) can only use it when we are home. He is not allowed to bring it to friends' homes. We live in the country, and he likes to shoot cans in the yard. Kids like to challenge themselves to hit targets, whether it be with rocks or whatever. Parents should teach them gun safety with it and keep it locked up like any 'real' gun. Some children dream of being soldiers when they grow up..not killers.

If this has the mechanicals of the 760, which I think it does, then it's just "meh". The barrel isn't rifled, so while its fairly accurate with pellets, BBs will curve. It could be better, but the price is just ok.
Eta: this would be inhumane to use against a squirrel unless you hit it just right. I recall shooting an opossum with mine and all I did was piss it off.

Re: gun laws. Most of our laws (guns or otherwise) are there to protect against the irresponsible (e.g. texting while driving). Let's not get caught up in left v right. Reagan wasn't a leftist, was he?

Yes ideally we're all responsible and in a responsible society, but these are just asking for trouble.

If I was 14 again, I'd be all over this as the most awesome thing for me to dent up stop signs with. But as a grown-up I say: if you want a pump action BB gun, get a pump action BB gun, don't get something that looks like an M-16.

Most rational post among the horde of lunatic/tough guy rantings here! Thank you.

I owned a 760 Powermaster as a kid. You knew what it was when you saw it...a pellet gun. This thing looks like a military weapon. It's appearance screams out for an opportunity to have it mistaken for a (much more) lethal weapon...resulting in tragedy. Stupid design for an item that will likely be handled by kids.

Unbelievably sad what happened at Sandy Hook but also sad how weak willed many of us are that some crumble at the site of a BB gun being sold on Woot. Seems like the voices of the media scream louder than the voice of our own reason these days.

Oh my, much of this stuff is pretty darn silly. Most won't remember, but before the first, failed, "assault weapon" ban was launched AR-style rifles were not all that popular. Then the hand-wringers and hyper-ventilators decided to demonize one type of firearms based on cosmetic features . . . and sales took off. Breathless newscast voiceovers of B-roll showing fully automatic gun fire appeared on the evening news inspired many a purchase.

Not a surprise, really. TV uses a wide variety of deceptive images to sell everything from deodorant to SUVs; is it really that much of a leap realize that after pounding the populace with deceptive images of "assault weapons" that a significant percentage of the viewers were going to say to themselves "I gotta get me one them machine-gun thingys"?

So. All you folks ever so offended that a BB gun that looks like an AR 15 that looks like an "assault weapon" (whatever they are) that looks like the M4 carbine used by the military please contact the media, start online petitions, and promise to never check this site again. You'll get to feel self-righteous, sales will take off, and everyone will be happy.
