I ordered three of these last time and they all arrived in used condition. Scratches, scuffs and nicks evident on the handles.

Bought one of these on the last sale right before it sold out. I got it for my wife to carry when on the bus downtown. It's light, easy to use, and damned sharp! Worth the purchase.

Did you contact service@woot.com about that?

I'm just hanging out, really.

great for the price, but the knife does NOT lock closed. Can creep open on its own

I have both the Vapor III and the Compound, both from Kershaw, both bought from Woot. The speedsafe feature on the Compound makes it far superior to this knife. I like the feel of Vapor III, for ease of use wait for Woot to offer a model with speedafe.

Ahhh.... I want this, but sadly my city has a carry maximum of 3" blades, which this just eclipses

Land of the free my ass.

And I'm sure the criminals in Boston always comply with this kind of ridiculous law as well, so thank god we know that Boston has figured out a way to stop criminals from carrying 3" knives! Not. This kind of law only impacts the lives of those who would abide by the law, who are by default not the people the law is supposed to be in effect for anyways. RIDICULOUS.

Speaking of ridiculous, I like how woot tries to censor the word idi otic and mor on. That's working about as well as the boston knife law you as you can see.

got one of these last time. not a knife expert or enthusiast here but for what its worth i like the knife. I've been using as an EDC but i can see how some would feel its too big for that. when i carry in my dress pants without using clip it does tend to feel too bulky. better in a jeans pocket.
Its very very sharp out of the box. Also some people complain about the knob for opening with your thumb. out of the box it is indeed impossible to open with just your thumb single handed, however its loosened up and now i can open it comfortably with one hand and one thumb.

Sounds like we're getting into some pretty specific area politics and away from the actual knife discussion itself here.

i bought 4 last time, with a little practice, you can flick the blade open without touching the knob, try it, you'll like it!!

i am getting 4 more for xmas gifts!!

I've really enjoyed this knife, its slim profile fits in my pocket well but is thick enough for me to have a good grip. The handle is long enough for me to get my large hand fully on. My favorite knife by far!

Nice blade. Big, but a nice piece to add to a collection. And a super price. I'm ordering a few more for my hunting buddies. Christmas is just around the corner... :-)

Only bad side is you need a chainsaw to open the packaging!

Luckily I had my previous Kershaw to open these two when they arrived!

My two arrived packed in bubble-wrap impossible-to-open type packaging and were in pristine conditon.

Sounds like it's time for y'all in Boston to throw some more tea into the harbor! Luckily we live in a part of the country that is not yet burdened by such liberal crap, but unfortunately the whole country seems to be headed your way. Good luck!

Bought two of these last time and hated them at first...swore I would never buy another non-assist knife, mostly due to that thumb stud. Then after playing with these for a couple of weeks, they are now my EDC. They now open easily and smoothly, close tightly and I now much prefer them to my thicker liner-locks for pocket carry.

I can see how one could view it that way but let's look at the other side of the coin. If specifics that have to do with carry and no-carry are talked about in here and it raises the awareness of people to unseat politicians that pass these stupa and non-working laws, it opens a larger market to Woot and others. Free market stuff, more jobs, capitalism, stuff like that. So as long as there is no name calling or misrepresentation of fact, Woot should allow it. Again, changes in this area expands your market. Would you not want that?

Given the common nature of the topic (we do carry knives here often), it seems to me like it'd be worth an open discussion in World of Sport.woot (where anyone is welcome to start a topic), even so the valuable information wouldn't get lost in the middle of specific product reviews.

I'm just hanging out, really.

The thumb studs on mine are very pointy so you may have to use your nail to push on them to open the knife. I don't have silky smooth doctor hands by any means, but the stud still digs into the pad of my thumb enough to be too annoying for EDC. I don't EDC "Made in China" anyway.

That said, it is a good beater knife for the price to keep in a drawer in about every room in the house. I like how slim it is due to the frame lock.

I bought two the last time these knives were available. I was impressed by the quality, given the low price. You won't mistake one of these knives for a $300.00 piece, but you won't weep in your beer if you lose it, either. Recommended.

It's only a 3.5" blade which is legal in most states (check your local knife laws). I use a Kershaw very similar for an EDC. An excellent design and light enough to carry.

Got 2 last time they were up. Razor sharp out of the package. Shaved my arm, now I have a bald arm. Also cuts through flesh like butter. I know this because I cut my finger. So smooth it didn't hurt & healed quickly. I don't recommend this test however.

Genius idea, vote someone out of office because you can only carry a 3" knife vs a 4"!

pyronemesis wrote:Agreed - I got two of these when they were on Woot last month and I wasn't thrilled with the knob on the blade either.

It probably won't be an issue if you don't use the knife clip, but I've gotten in the habit of clipping my knife on to the lip of my pocket. It keeps it secure, accessible and out of the way of other items in my pocket.

However, while reaching into the pocket with the knife clipped in place, the knob on the blade has some sharp edges that mildly scratch the back of my hand. It's not awful, but it's certainly not a pleasant sensation.

The blades do seem to hold an edge well, and they do have a nice, slim profile.

I may try to replace the knob on the blade...

I used my dremel to grind the points off of the knobs, and it made it more comfortable and easier to use.

11 days later: "awaiting shipping"

Funny because I was one of the first to order on the 12th, on top of last month when I was once again one of the first-- yet they couldn't fill my order as I found out about 3 weeks later when I emailed them twice about it.

Lovely service woot.

Ordered both versions and love them. I prefer the straight edge (non Serrated), but both knives are sleek, slim, and light weight. Perfect addition to my collection of EDC knives.
