What keeps the sides of that carrier from folding in? It looks sturdy enough for use on the ground but I'm not sure how stable it would be while carrying it.

Also, videos and pictures with a dog on the company website.

A special DogBagChair? For the people who bring their animals absolutely, positively everywhere?

I gotta say, i'm totally puzzled by this product.

Actually, it's genius for the dog show/competition crowd. Soft crates are very popular, and chairs are a must, this combines them. Pretty clever.

Ah, beat me to it. Cat show folks could use this, as well.

Huh; i wouldn't have thought of those things. If anything, i would have guessed that hard carriers would be preferred, at least for cats and dogs with fancy coats, but what the heck do i know about the world of the show beastie. xD

I keep thinking this item gives a whole new meaning to "time-out chair".

Thank God. I've had such a hard time pushing a canvas crate under a chair.....

This is in the running for stupidest product ever.

Also great as a portable toilet if you cut a hole in the seat. Put a jug or diapers in the cage, depending on the discharge. Perfect for Columbus Day or Mother's Day.

I think I would be concerned that the chair might fail if the pet owner or someone else flops down onto the chair while a dog or cat is in the kennel underneath.

This. This. This. This chair/crate combo is BRILLIANT for the dog show world. I compete in agility with my pup and I sincerely wish they made one of these big enough to fit her (she's 75 lbs, haha). Of course, she busted out of the soft-sided crate she had so we had to move up to a wire crate. But yes - these chairs are exactly what most of the dog show people have (except theirs have a fold down table on one side and a multi-pocket thing on the other and they don't have the crate underneath). But if I had a dog small enough to fit in the crate that could tolerate soft-sided crates this would be the best! Crating space can be an issue at some venues (partially because the show people bring every dang dog they own to the shows whether or not they are actually competing) and this would be ideal!

I suspect even something smaller: insert my Jack Russell, cue up the Yakkity Sax music and stand back.

Please remember to remove pet before attempting.

If you weigh 266lbs, for the love of all that's holy don't put your chihuahua in there. Just sayin'.

This is for keeping small children in, right?

Now no one can question it when you blame your dog when you fart in public.

Great Scott! This is EXACTLY like something I asked my daughter to make for me. My Rat Terrier (think Jack Russell but a bit taller) likes to curl up under my chair at dog shows--not the "beauty contest" type, but the performance type, where we wait around for our turn. The only thing it needs is the side table, which wouldn't interfere with the dog's access to the crate.

I'm getting one!

My wife and I were just discussing how entertaining it would be to see our 140lb Eastern European Shepherd in that carrier....

I totally agree. That was the first thing I thought of was how perfect that would be ringside for someone with a small dog. My Mastiffs; however, will not fit. It is a great ideal though. Even would be good for a picnic

It would be more entertaining to watch you carry the dog in the carrier.

While I have no need for this, it looks really cool and I understand the purpose it serves. I can't let my cats see it, or they might try and convince me to 1 - get two and 2 - take them places to use them (and then find ways to escape).

I really like the different products we are seeing, even if they seem to have a relatively niche market.

forever fighting the urge to buy something just because it is cheap and cool...wait, it's cheap and cool, let me click that big yellow button!
