Might be a silly question, but for carry on to go underneath the seat or in the over-head compartment?

Their limits are 24 inch length, ten inch depth, and sixteen inches wide. This bag is only twelve inches wide, but I believe other airlines have different requirements.
It is blue...is it bigger on the inside than the outside?
I'd love one of these, if only they came in a slightly less awful color. :\ (Basically, any other color...)
Kelty durability plus UNC Tar Heel blue... In for one.
Not only good carry-on size, but the compression straps on top can be cinched up to cut down the dimensions. In for 3.

On an airplane you are typically permitted two carry on items. One for the overhead and a "personal item" aka the largest purse or messenger bag I own. On some airlines if the overhead is filled up by the passengers boarding before you they won't let you bring rolling carry on bags and they check them for you for free at the gate. In these situations duffle style bags like these are still permitted since you can just put them under the seat, and you get to keep your stuff with you. I wouldn't use this as my "personal item" in addition to another full size bag but it should fit under the seat if you need it to.
This is a great bag. I have the black one and just used it to go camping with. I was able to fit my tent, sleeping bag, extra blanket, mallet, hatchet and much, much more. Pretty much everything but my clothes and kitchen supplies.
I am a little confused(As Usual) I bought this when you said it was a XL. Now its not?

unfortunately, i am also confused. i can't seem to find the last kelty camp duffle sale. do you have a specific date you could cite? (also, just in case it helps: keep in mind we've run a variety of kelty's styles.)
Mine arrived today. These are high quality bags that you would expect from a company like Kelty. Plenty of room too. Very happy with my purchase.
