I was really disappointed with these and even more angry Woot is marketing these as sports bras when they are in no way shape and form usable for any sport activities. No support and I find them completely uncomfortable in the shoulders. The bands are always rolling. I don't think I could have stepped down for "more support" or the band around the chest would be uncomfortably tight. If you need a good sports bra save your money. If you need a really crappy unsupportive bra for some reason buy 3!

Signatures are harshing my mellow.

These aren't meant to be sports bras -- I don't think they're even marketed as such. They're called "Freedom Bras" cos they're free of hooks and diggy straps, etc. They are not meant for jogging I don't think!

I bought some last time and I really like them. They are quite comfortable and provide reasonable support for normal daily life, especially for just around the house or neighborhood. I am a 34D and bought size Medium, they work just great for me. I also don't have any problems to put them on or take them off, FWIW.

I wouldn't wear them out of the house in a form-fitting t-shirt or blouse or anything like that, unless you've had a nipplectomy...

I suspect people think these are meant to be sports bras because they're on sport.woot.

I picked up a set when they were on the last woot-off. As many many people have said, these are not sports bras at all.

I did, however, find them tolerably comfy. They are rather like wearing nylons on your chest, and they don't provide nearly the required structure to look nice under clothes. They're just fine for sleeping, or hacking around the house.

I've only ever left the house wearing one when I was rocking a pretty serious fever and just needed to get more medication and no longer cared how I looked. Anything more formal than that needs a real bra, which these kind of aren't.

I also bought these the last time they were offered, & also love them. I find them incredibly comfortable (almost don't even know I'm wearing them) - very thin & soft, breathable, easy to get on & off, no twisting or binding, etc., etc.

HOWEVER - as others have mentioned, these are definitely NOT to be considered any sort of "sports bra". For regular, everyday, low-action activity - yes. Anything strenuous - no.

agree on wearing these are like wearing pantyhose on your chest comment. they are basically see-thru materials with minimal support. the biggest gripe for me is they run very small and rise up very high under the armpit area.

woot would not exchange for a size bigger last time stating intimate apparels like this can't be returned. (i've never had to return or exchange anything so i'm not sure if this is true for everything.)

I call it TSA foreplay and I was quite disappointed I didn't get any last week.

I got a set of these the last time they were offered here, and ended up getting a full refund. They have ZERO support, and I was under the impression I could wear them to jog since the word "jog" was in the name. Being a 40DD, there is no way I could even wear these bras around the house unless I avoided the stairs. I don't think I was the only one disappointed the last time either, here's a link to the discussion from last time:

http://sport.woot.com/forums/viewpost.aspx?postid=5093786

Edit: I see now that they have removed the word "jog" from the title. Last time they were called "Freedom Jog Bra 3-Pack". Nice, Woot.

I also bought these last they were on woot and was disappointed. My biggest beef is with the tiny arm holes. I'm petite and so ordered a small, but when I put them on they dig into my armpits.

Before wearing this style bra, put your hands in both sides and stretch it a few times. Then "step into it". If the band is rolling, you need a larger size. Putting them in a lingerie bag in the washer keeps them from pilling. Air dry. Price certainly better than Rhonda Shear's on HSN, 3 for $50. Hoping the same quality tho.

Disappointing I ordered these last time and found the following issues:
1. the arm holes are not comfortable, constraining
2. They are wearable but not made for any type of activity. Support is minimal at best
3. VERY transparent
I'm used to wearing, and like, the genie bras but unfortunately these are nowhere near the same quality. I was disappointed in these.

Freedom bra seems like a bit of an oxymoron

No one cares how many barges of crude you've purchased, or which woots you've wooted.

In this case it's appropriate. There's way more freedom than bra.

DO NOT BUY! I bought these a month or so ago from woot. They came with holes at the seams, very cheaply made. Uncomfortable, like wearing heavy nylons. One of the worst purchases I have made. They are in the drawer, but they should be in the garbage.

Lots of negs on this, so I will post my positive experience. I'm a 36DD and, shall we say, lost some tissue elasticity in the chest when I had my child. I ordered a set of L and a set of XL last time, and have been really pleased--probably because I had realistic expectations. I sleep in the XL (more comfortable than going without, *much* more comfortable than going without under a t-shirt, which presses "the girls" into my body). I haven't worn the L out of the house by itself, but I have worn it for yardwork/hanging around the house, and I've doubled it up to wear out of the house--enough support and coverage to look decent, but still more comfortable than the underwire/minimizer architecture I wear to work.

Something nobody else has mentioned--I've also worn both sizes over a regular bra, either to smooth over the lines, to camouflage the color, or to cover cleavage. In that case, it's a much cooler/lighter alternative to wearing a tank top or camisole under a shirt.

Would like to second the users who said to line dry them, and who pointed out that they're easier to pull on from the bottom up than to take over the head--taking them off by pulling down and stepping out is also much easier.

So bottom line, *not* a sports bra, not a great bra as such for us full-figured gals, but potentially a very functional wardrobe piece.

a word of caution to short girls: i am 5' tall and a 36d (and bought these during a recent wootoff).

these are comfy, yes. but they're long-bodied and a tad wide-necked. so on me, the shoulder straps reach to the edges of my shoulders. and the wide chest band folds up over itself when i sit down.

also, the straps do look very bra-like and matronly ... so i wouldn't recommend using them for under-tank layering.

ditto the lounging use suggested by others.

I bought these bras last time they were on Woot. I am short but rather well-endowed. They are soft and comfy but if you are looking for real support these are not for the "well-hung" woman. I ordered a large which may have been my mistake so I may try a size smaller. I do like to wear them around the house and to run errands in but you won't see me jogging in these things!

Does anyone have any sizing suggestions? True to size or size up or size down?

I ordered the Medium based on their size chart, and they were small. I suggest ignoring the size chart and getting whatever size T-shirt you wear.

And yeah--great for everyday/leisure wearing, not for anything strenuous. Sports bras these ain't.

morninglark wrote:I was wondering how these compare to the Genie bra. I have those and like them for casual wear (I don't do sports unless juggling counts). From the other comments, these won't fit me. In the Genie Bras I wear a XXL comfortably with the XL as a tight fit.

I have last weight and just started another diet, so I am not certain of my real bra size--my old size was 38DD. I think I am between sizes right now on everything. :-(

The Genie bras I have are designed with a double layer of fabric (for a modesty insert) and are sturdier than these. These are one layer of thinner fabric. I got them last time (didn't know to size up, check out the sizing at Genie bra), gave to my mother, who finds them very comfortable for casual, home-based activities.

If the "girls" are big, pass on this Woot offer. Some of the other comments about wearing pantyhose on your chest is about right. I even tried wearing 2 of them at the same time to see if the support was better. Didn't work and it was very disappointing.

I'm happy with mine. I'm about a 40-B, but have a relatively large ribcage, so with a regular bra, I have to use an extender on the last hooks. That throws off the shoulder strap position, so my straps are forever falling off.

I got these in an XL, and they are are comfortably snug around my ribs, and the straps don't fall down! I wear them to my senior exercise class and errands afterwards. I feel the bounce when we are doing basketball jumps, but not otherwise. I'd prefer less nipple display, but at my age and where I live, it doesn't really matter.

I bought these during the last offering on Woot! I can only wear them around the house--they are good for say having to duck out to the laundry room in my apartment complex and not get stared at by the neighbors--but that's about it.

36d and I love them. Air dry and step in. I am short waisted and love the top to bottom ratio. I got both m and l. I like them both. The black ones seem smaller and tighter than the white and beige. I will buy again. All this "support" commentary cracks me up. What do you want, concrete?

arcadiapandora

I whole heartily agree with a lot of the comments left so far.

There are NOT sports bras. Not in any way. In my case, I actually found the band to be a little too tight and the breast area too loose. Zero support in that regard, and they were too wide across my shoulders (I'm used to wearing sports bras where they're more halter-ish).

I tried my usual run route in one of these and gave up about 2 minutes in. Completely not appropriate for any type of aerobic activity, unless you like your girls jumping up to hit you in the face.

Just saying. :B

So are these "leisure bras"? (I just learned that term recently - who knew I'd have an opportunity to use it!)

As a well-stacked (36DDD) gal, my go-out-in-public bras have more hooks and wiring than (something with lots of hooks and wiring), so they are off as soon as I am home.

Thing is, I spend a LOT of time at home, so have been wanting something to keep the girls closer to my armpits than my belly-button - and able to answer the door without having to keep my arms crossed.

Based on your review - I'm thinking the XL might do the trick... or do you find them snug enough that I won't be able to fit more than one boob in?

I find it hard to believe that these things were really created by women! For those of us with large boulders, the only thing we can actually use them for is sleeping. You definitely can't move in them without any support. So, I secretly think these things were really created by men!

Sports (aka Freedom) bras = Smash

Or, as I say "smish." Not flattering, no lift for those less than 'perky.' And yes, if you're jogging, you might not jiggle in these. You're smished, after all.

Note: The Uni-boob look is not attractive.

I bought these last time they were offered.
Pluses:
they are comfortable
they don't produce uniboob
they provide adequate support for around the house
if you double up they are OK for moderate exercise.
However, they are no way adequate for serious exercise.

I am fairly well endowed - 38 to 40 D to DD depending on current weight - and the XLs are great for leisure and sleep bras. The Ls are fine for working around the house or a quick trip to the store. The Ls provide adequate support for non-exercise, but if I want to wear them for any level of exercise or going to work, I throw an XL on top of the L - that is fine. I was even able to use the doubled up set for exercise. I plan to buy three more - this time I plan to get a set of M's too.

You may be okay in the XL -- you may even be okay in the L. At a 38DD I wear the L and find them quite comfy. The XL might be loose enough that they wouldn't offer much support.... there's a fine line between too tight and no support on the stretchy bras.

I'm a 44 DD - I bought the biggest ones and they fit ok (wearing it now, actually!); not a lot of full-fledged support but they're good for lounging around the house or running out to the store real quick. I wouldn't use them for actual sports, or even for work though.

As a side note, don't know if this was mentioned yet, the flesh colored and white, you can clearly see the nips through if you have a darker shade.

EDIT: if you can't stand your boobs rubbing each other, these don't have enough structure to keep them separated (I assume smaller boobs would be ok, but not mine!)
