Active Shorts for Active Youths!!

They grow up so fast. It seems like just yesterday they were scooting around on their hands and knees, barely able to lift up their tiny bald heads off the ground. And now look at 'em, running around playing soccer and gymnastics and baseball. It's enough to bring a tear to your eye when you consider how expensive it is keeping them in clothes that fit.

I know it says "youth" over all the pages, but nowhere near the sizes. Are these youth sizes, or adult sizes?

Very happy with these, got them from WOOT! a couple weeks ago. Also wish I had the broader color selection that is being offered now! If you are waffling between sizes, go with the next size up.

I just wanted to share the full quote from our buyer, because it made me chuckle:
"There are no pockets on these shorts. They’re for active preciouses, not hang out at the mall preciouses."

Did you know shirt.woot ships internationally? Get you some!

To put this into perspective, my 2 year old son is 36.5" tall and 33# and the XXS fits him perfectly...
(Yes, he is big for his age - I'll be the one being carried around in a couple of years!)

Does anyone know how long these shorts are? Hahaha ...how long the shorts are? Seriously, are they above the knee or below the knee length?

Got them when Woot sold them in a 5-pack (and was NOT happy that they all came in one color, despite indication of color assortment). The quality is fine, the sizing runs a wee bit snug. My skinny kid is fine with the shorts in her current size, my average-size kid would have been more comfortable a size up.

This is great! Bought 5 in various colors and sizes for my 5 y.o. daughter! At an average of $3 each, even if she only wears them for 3 months, still a great deal! Thinking about ordering even more! If they had purple, she would have forced me to buy 5 in EACH SIZE!

They hit right above the knee on my tall, skinny child.

These are great shorts. Look like the shorts my son's teammates are running around in, but I probably spent a bunch less. Tempted to buy some in the next size up.

So if I have a 5 yr old that is fitting a size 5 right this minute, 6's are kinda big...what size would you that already have them suggest to hopefully fit next summer? Do they have an adjustable pull string or just elastic?

Ok, never mind. Went with the small, hopefully won't be too big next summer.

I am rather surprised that a clothing sale does not provide a size chart with height, waist etc measurements, but only rather non-informative XS, S, M sizing (which are mostly meaningless, by the way, in this world of vanity sizing).

@ThunderThigh - just a suggestion, ask the buying team to request that form the apparel supplier and have that listed?

I was told by our experienced apparel buyer that elastic waist items don't come with waist measurements. There is a bit of an industry standard for sizing and these are youth sizes.

Here's info from the last sale:

SIZE: XXS (3/4), XS (5/6), S (7/8), M (9/10), L (11/12) and XL (13/14)
We bought these as "youth". Each brand/company markets their sizes differently and "youth", "junior", and "kids" are often interchangeable terms. Specific waist measurements are not given on elastic banded items.

INSEAM/OUTSEAM:

Apparel manufacturers are allowed a tolerance to spec, so there could be some slight variance from the above measurements.
