Somebody's gotta say it, may as well be me... uhhh, fellas? They're not straight, y'know. They're homogenous. But they do have nice dimples.

Just played with these about a month and a half ago. My shot was VERY straight, which is very cool. I normally slice like crazy. The distance was very diminished, however, and I kept grabbing clubs that were too short.

On one hole, we had no one behind us, so I drove 5 times. 3 times were with my normal golf balls. All of them sliced. I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed. I was hoping that I had somehow corrected my swing.

Amazing reviews on amazon

Well, I'm sure... couldn't win without 'em? I'm just wondering if these would improve your actual skills, or simply make one lazier in their aim. If I played against someone with self-correcting balls, I might declare the balls winners as well, but certainly not the other player.

Hey now, just because I used to live in California...

But yeah, these sound like a lot of fun. Perhaps I could actually use a fairway wood for a change.

do they stay straight even when they're touching?

Not a great deal if you have Prime (and didnt buy anything else today).

$8.99 + $5 shipping is $13.99... Mothership has them for a dollar more, prime elligible.

As the description mentions, these balls are illegal in competition. Meaning that if you were competing against someone in tournament and using USGA rules, they would have forefeited for using a non-conforming ball. Similar to the Volvik - Raider golf balls, which will add '30 yards' to your distance, accomplished by making the balls slightly smaller and slightly heavier than the rules would allow.

This may be a good confidence booster off the tee - but until someone manufactures a ball that can detect and seek out the hole, you're still going to have to learn to chip and putt. Which is more important than being straight off of the tee anyway (just look at the pros).

Golf really isn't a sport -- you do realize that, right? Maybe you could add a "Leisure Activity Woot" and keep all the golf stuff there, leaving sportwoot! to sell real sports items.

sounds great for tee shots but do you have to adjust your balls on the fairway before approaching the hole? Ok, it was a serious question, stop snickering.

Golf balls. Poker chips. Enough backbacks to use as sandbags when the floods come.

In the couple months I've been following Woot, I've found one item worth buying. (Smith and Wesson pistol light) No fishing gear, no shooting/hunting gear, no heavy outdoor footwear, no bike gear, no good outdoor clothing, in short, nothing I want to buy ever shows up. I'm sorry, but for me, the daily emails have been a failure.

It sounds like you really need to start looking at the Plus deals, and not just the daily item. They had a ton a fishing reels just last week and I have seen a lot of shooting practice/targeting equipment over the last couple of months.

I have some actual experience with these balls (tee hee). A friend of mine who's golf game has drastically declined bought a dozen of these balls from d i c k s (tee hee). They do go straight but die in the air, you do not get a whole lot of distance in these. Also as someone mentioned (should have quoted) once you are in the fairway you have to re-adjust your ball by lining up the arrows, which is illegal, but so are these balls.

Finally they do not really putt well either, and dont give a whole lot of green side control... so if you buy these balls to try and straighten out your drive with a driver... I would hit them into a fairway, and then put another ball down and finish from there. (this is not legal of course per most... er all golf rules... but these balls are not legal either)

Dont use a 3 wood or anything with them, because they will already kill your distance.

also if you hit the ball to the left, it wont magically find the fairway... these are for people that have a slice or a hook, if you start it left, it will stay left.

Will these work if you swing both ways?

Exactly 11 hours ago, I did what you describe. I used the ball off the tee, using the little green arrows. Hit perfect right in fairway, and yes, a little shorter than normal. Walked up on it and wailed on it like normal second shot. It flew and rolled rel funny and I remembered the little green arrow problem. I dropped a Pro V1 in the same spot, hit with the same 5 wood and drove 12 feet past the hole.

In short, the little green arrows matter, and when I tested the balls sitting on the fairway with the arrows correct, it did help, but not like on the tee.
If I can golf, it is usually sporadic and almost always by myself. I cannot keep my head down and still find the ball without a partner. I use these balls for the drive to keep my game faster for people behind me. I do not waste time for them and me driving around looking for a lost ball. I think it is considerate and it makes the game less frustrating when you can only play sporadically.

You can try and line up the arrows on your later shots off the ground, but why? The USGA already implies you are scum with these balls, so who cares if you are by yourself and not lying for a handicap? Swap to a different ball after the drive and work on your shorter game, as well as making people behind you happier for the speed.

Buy these in quantity; they are fantastic for speed golf or training newbies. The little green arrows really do matter though.

DO NOT BUY THESE
These balls SUUUUUCCCK. I bought these under the "as advertised" assumption that at the very least they would act like a regular ball.
THIS IS NOT TRUE. If you want a cheap ball I would go with a Topflight or even a rock before using these again.
My golfing partner and I are very good golfers and thought to give these a shot for the fun of it. He is a zero handicap and I am a 6. When you swing normally, these balls dive straight into the ground. The only way we could get them to fly a reasonable distance was to swing very slow, but when you swing slow you rarely slice or hook. I cannot see why these balls are for-sale... then again, shipping is almost more than the product itself... that should tell you something.

DO NOT BUY THESE
