Think this might work for "Beer League" Softball?
Presumably this is a no-go for southpaws?
I bought one of these last time. It's too small for my hand. If anyone wants mine, please contact me, and we can work something out. It's never been used and still in brand new condition. Thank you.

So - would it be just right for a tall 11-year-old?
Anyone know what age boy this can be given?
I remember this selling out last time I saw it, so in for one hoping it will fit and work for my work league softball :-P Edit: I haz small paws so just worried about it tightening enough :-P
I have tiny hands, will this fit me fine? Most people complaining say they have average sized hands. Just wanna take it to a Mets game I am going to soon, maybe play catch in the parking lot or something.

It might be, but you might want to find a 12" glove at Walmart or some place, and see if that's a good size for his hand first just to be sure.
This will be a little small for softball. You really need a 13 inch glove to be able to have a little error room for catching.
I've had my current glove for about 10 years...couldn't turn this down. Can't wait to try to break it in!

If you have tiny hands, it might be okay, but my hands are not that big, and it was tight for me.
I bought one of these last time and love it. It may feel small to some, but like any glove, it needs to be worked in. I don't think this glove is any smaller than most, but it is a baseball glove, and not a softball glove. 12" is a normal all purpose glove. That said, it would definitely fit the youth baseball players, and most of us adults. The glove is nicely made and I love the design. A steal at 12.99!
In for 3. I have 2 nephews in junior high that need decent gloves plus a niece that may want to practice with them. Missed these a few times before so glad I "caught" them this time...
is this a glove for the left hand? throws with the right.

Yes it is.
My son is 11 years old and uses a size 11.5" if that helps establish the size. He is 5 ft. tall and weighs about 100 pounds. He is also left-handed and I'm really disappointed I can't get him one of these!! What's up Woot!, you don't like southpaws!!?
I received the folowing message after I placed my order so did my purchase complete or not? You want to be in this party, your name better be on the list. And we don't see your name on the list. Sorry. What is that ? A $20 bill? Are you trying to bribe me, sir? What kind of doorman do you think I am? If you think you're seeing this message by mistake, write us and we will try to help. Now, step aside, please. The real guests need to get through. Why did I get this message? And did my order go through?
Way too small; do not buy unless you are a small child.
I bought one of these last time they were up. I ordered left-handed and either Woot! thought I was just kidding, screwed up my order or ran out and figured it didn't really matter and sent me right-handed. The downside is that even if it's their fault Woot! makes you pay return shipping. So I gave mine away at a white elephant party yesterday. And stopped ordering as much from Woot!. Thanks for the lesson Woot!.

Sounds to me like a 'left handed compliment'.

What does the 12" measurement refer to? Is it the length of the glove? Thank you!

We get many of our deals as a bulk purchase so we have to take what they give us. They likely didn't have a left-handed version available.
For those of you who are wondering about the size; adult gloves usually fall in the 12"-13" range. In fact, Major League Baseball rules require gloves to be no more than 12", although the rule is rarely enforced: Rule 1.14 ...”The glove shall not measure more than 12 inches from the tip of any one of the four fingers, through the ball pocket to the bottom edge or heel of glove. The glove shall not measure more than 73/4 inches wide, measured from the inside seam at base of first finger, along base of other fingers.."
This glove never offered a left-handed option. But I checked with my late night CS pal and they see an order for a different glove back in Jan 12. Did you email service@woot.com to let them know you didn't receive the item you ordered?

Interesting message. Not sure what it means but my late-nite CS pal says your order went through. You should be able to see it just fine on "Your Account".
i bought a couple of these the last time around, and they are definitely smaller than my rawlings 12" glove. the dimensions of this glove are pretty close to my friend's 11.5" rawlings, and the opening for the hand is a bit smaller than the rawlings, but i'm able to squeeze my hand in there. still, i'd say this glove would work better for young adults or adults with smaller hands. definitely not for softball, you'll probably end up damaging your thumb. the inside of the glove is lined with some kind of padding plus fabric, so it sort of form-fits your hand once you get it in there. for the price, it's a very decent infielder's mitt.
Bought two of these last go around. One for me and one for the twelve year old. They fit my 9 year old daughter and 4 year old son. Way too small for me and I dont have large paws.
I purchased one the last time. I knew it would be smaller than what I would use but I was hoping it would work for my wife. Yes, this glove is very good quality (and a real bargain at the Woot price), but don't let the "12 inch" size fool you. I thought that surely it would be only slightly smaller than the 12 1/2" Wilson I use but this glove is literally in a much different league. There is no place on this glove that is only a half an inch shorter than mine regardless of where they claim to measure from. It is very suitable for my 8 year old nephew and will last him many years of growth, but it will have a very hard time fitting any but the most petite adult hands and is not worth buying for frequent use with a softball - baseballs or t-balls will be more appropriate to its size. On a more positive note, this glove is excellent quality and almost anything else in the Woot price range would be considered a toy in comparison. The adult quality and black-and-tan colors get my nephew a lot of "wow's!" from other kids. He's going to have to keep an eye on this glove so it doesn't get lost... The leather is very good quality - just firm enough where he will have to break it in (and I get to teach him how) but soft enough to be usable early. The interior is perforated synthetic which should help reduce problems with moisture. There is no extra palm padding but I don't want him catching with his palm anyway so this just might help in the long run. Overall an excellent buy for a youth or adolesent but for an adult I would have a re-gifting plan in place just in case.
My sons a lefty so his misses out on the deal!
I bought two of these last time they were up just to have some extra gloves hanging around just in case. They do seem to be kind of small, but I am able to fit my hand in there and it feels fine, but it just looks a bit on the small side. For reference I normally wear XL for work gloves and the sort. So I'd say these should work fine for kids and I guess adults since my hand fits in it, but it just looks a little small. I am by no means a BB expert but i took it to a Minor league game with a bunch of friends just in case a foul ball came our way and no one mentioned that it looked too small and some actually play BB. The quality was really nice and they had a price tag on them which read $35. Anyhow I hope this helps someone, and by the way they did sell out pretty quick last time.
I know it's not Amazoot's fault that there are no left hander (meaning, for going on your right hand) gloves in this deal, but this is an example, to me, of how Woot has degraded ever since the web site redesign and addition of all the "woot plus" junk. What happened to one deal per day? Now there are 8 plus another two dozen or more woot pluses. What happened to that great Woot service and fairness to all? Now, you're lucky if they even send the order on time. And what happened to all the cool stuff? Now you're lucky if it's not a TV, laptop, or case for your iThingy. This is probably the end of my wootitude for good. -Lefty
left handed people need not apply
I have large hands. We use generic rubber gloves at work and most guys slip in and out of them where I struggle. These are snug but they fit me. The pinkie and thumb have a leather guide which you can bypass to better fit your hand. You can also adjust the wrist with the black ties. I think they're fine for general use and youth baseball. Good deal and I want to get more but moneys tight.
This glove size is fine for any 14 and under kid. for those older or who coach know that this size glove is fine for pitchers and INFs. OF's could use it, but probably would want a 13".
sherbare9469 wrote:My sons a lefty so his misses out on the deal!
Same is the case with my kid. Woot give us an option to select a glove for the other hand.
I bought a similar Wilson glove at a yard sale in like-new condition, but in the course of use the "pleather" coating has peeled away...rapidly. I'm not sure if this is the same material, but it hasn't stood the test of time...would pass on a similar low-kwality Wilson...
You know what they say...Small hands...Small glove
can someone provide some picture comparisons of hand and glove. would be helpful.
So I guess us lefty's are out...
