the child's extra large is significantly smaller than a men's small, so adult men can't get away with these, but very slim adult women might.

I'm thinking the actual sizes of these shorts are more along the lines of the "Young junior sizes" chart from the above commenter's link...since it has a similar numbering scheme with the slashes and all. Maybe...maybe not.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.
