The movement may be Swiss, but the watch is made in China.

I love wearing big watches, but at 50mm in diameter (almost 2 inches!) it is just too big. Unless you are a 7 foot NBA player.

Would've bought one last time it was up, but I have no need for a massive watch that sits on my wrist like a dinner plate.

A product made in China, that's unheard of. I am in for 1 since I missed out last time. I have been lookin for a watch that can accommodate a big arm.

For anyone on the fence, I talked to a friend who collects high end watches and this was his one of his first watches and he liked it a lot and was well worth the money. Especially at this price.

Just FYI everyone, the last one was 48mm, this one is 52mm. Big difference on the wrist.

does it have a screwdown crown? Being waterproof to 10ATM, I presume it is a poser watch...probably more of a fashion accessory piece.

What really grinds my gears are Watches w/ ridiculous retail prices and huge markdowns. Companies like this and Invicta are just plane siesta. At least Timex and Rolex have fair pricing and none of this gimicky price cuts.

Well now you are talking to another "high end" collector. If you want a cheap reliable watch, buy a Timex or a Sieko.

2 inches is huge for a watch. Are you using it to tell the time, or to signal ships? I suppose a huge watch like this might help some get off an island, making it easy to be seen from all around.

As for the personal insults, many people wear watches with long-sleeve shirts, and a watch this big would be out of place. Not to mention, this huge and it has a rubber strap.. bleh. My watch is a comfortable size, and this thing is almost half an inch larger on the face. The only watch I would wear that had this size, better make phone calls or play old NES games.

And again, gotta thing about that strap unless you are replacing it right away. Something that big might jostle pretty easy, are you going to enjoy having a rubber strap rubbing against your wrist in the same place every day? You He-men are going to look mighty odd with a weird bald spot on your wrist.

On the other hand, I do like the look of it, and it if was in a normal size and I could find better reviews, it might be worth it for the face alone, and to get a nice leather strap or even a black steel one.

Don't know what this has to do with pilots, really...but it does look like a great watch for watersports! Like me, for example, when I go sailing or windsurfing or even a little scuba diving, I like a watch I can read without having to dig out my glasses. Big, cheap, soft, readable, waterproof. I think I'll go for it.

...and come to think of it, for all the propeller-heads, what do you call the guy (or girl) who comes out to your boat to help guide you in to complicated harbours? A Pilot!

I really like Swiss legends, the crystals don't scratch, and the time is true.

And for the price and the look, they are my go-2 piece when I travel abroad and may get mugged... Or for outdoor sports where it might get trashed.

Plus, they look good.

As a pilot (yes we do tell everyone every chance we get) this watch offers me nothing. There are some better quality watches at about triple the price that posses the capability to actually help a pilot in his duties. A true pilot's watch generally encorporates a fourth hand for Zulu time, and also has a rotating bezel that functions as an E6-B ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E6B ). Those are features that pilots NEED.

The only way this pilot would need this watch was if I decided to start back with my SCUBA adventures.

All in all- this should not have the pilot label. It's almost offensive.

Thank you! My husband is a pilot and I was thinking about getting it for him. I know Zulu & the dial are one of the most important features in a pilot's watch and I'm surprised it doesn't have them. So why did they give it a pilot label? Btw, I got him a citizen watch a few years ago that he loves. He loves how well it keeps time & still gets compliments on it from others. Thanks again for pointing out what it is lacking & keeping me from looking like a dork of I would've gotten it for him!

There are a few other things that are lacking but those are more subjective rather than objective (my opinion rather than facts).

I would rather have a metal watch band and so would most other pilots I know. Some are leather fans (I'm not simply because it irritates my skin when I sweat). But rubber is an abomination. Some like a stopwatch feature for use in holding patterns, but a watch with a sweep second hand will suffice. The date is an acceptable feature, but nothing my iPad won't tell me (and my iPad is my copilot).

All in all it may be a fine watch, but it needs more bells and whistles for this pilot to salivate over it.

This may hold true for most pilots (vanity, that is, not drowning), but not me. I do keep a professional appearance (clean shaven, and hair short and neat with a precise part) and neatly pressed/ironed shirts and pants and scuff free shoes, but I do not pay much attention otherwise. (BTW- I am married to my soulmate and can slightly "Let myself go" with no fear of reprisal, so that might have some bearing on my distinct point of view.)

Not sure what makes this a "Pilot" watch. Nothing about it reflects aviation. Maybe if they print "James Bond" on the back, it could be a spy watch too...

Useless for going below the surface. water resistant to 10 ATM and lack of screwdown crown means it is only good for snorkeling.

Of course, The US are laying off all the seasoned pilots and replacing them with inexperience pilots and overworking them to death like on Continental 3407, they could only nap in lounges as their only shuteye between flight. Got to please the shareholders.
